I recently started talking to one of my friends who gambles allot and he was talking boxing and he's an older guy in his 50's who was around the circuit back in the day making big bets on big fights. He still keeps pretty current but doesn't bet anymore. And he touched upon odds and the general public, not us guys who are in the know.
And he said it's perfect math why some fights like this Pacquiao vs Bradley is going down. "Arum owns the rights to Manny's first loss. He also said, in boxing styles make fights (tell me something I don't know) and you see what a fighter can deal with well threw his career. A fighter who has a match turn into a brawl, or a fighter who get's cut, what does he do? Now as a promoter you always make sure you know what your fighter can and cannot do well." But he said boxing ultimately comes down to business when your a promoter. Keep it all in house is a good business. "Arum is smart" But the best way to make the most amount of money is when, and this is what shook me, "You have a superstar out of nowhere get beat by a nobody. You have a fighter you build up once they reach a certain place everyone expects him to not lose, and when everyone is comfortable with that notion, that's when you cash 'em out. You pick a nobody fighter who beats your superstar, and you bet LARGE on the nobody. You see nobody will see it coming, because he's a guaranteed bet in the eye's of the public. That is the best way to make money because the odds are so stacked like 10-1, you make a killing!
IMO Arum is Cashing out Pacquiao and using Bradly's relatively anonymous nature to do it.
If i'm wrong, i'm wrong, but if i'm right, well then what we have here is Arum who is a straight up dirty promoter IMO. It's like a guy who knows which stock will fall and rise and trading when you know it's on it's way out to maximize your profit. He can Pac and if the fight with Mayweather ever happens Pac will be viewed as broken and noone will be interested, and everyone loses except Arum.
That's Why we all find it really confusing why Arum would put Bradley in with Pac. Pac is done, that's why he has always been focusing all his energy on things outside of boxing and using boxing as a vehicle.
Thoughts ? Am I full of ****? Do i have a valid point? Will this thread be deleted? Do I sound like an a.ss?

I was saying something like this back when the thought of the fight started coming up. Arum knows that Pac is getting closer to leaving the sport and Bradley is the opportune character to have step in as the next star of boxing.
Posters were laughing right and left: "Who is Bradley, he can't attract 2000 people in his hometown." True, Tim is not well known to the general audience but if he beats Pac, he'll be just like Mayweather after DLH and Pac after DLH....he'll blow up like a nuke instantly.
Bradley is such a nobody compared to Pac and he is overlooked and thought of as some sort of scrub. In reality, Bradley is the freshest, most well rounded boxer that he will have faced in years, since his featherweight days.
Arum knows how good Bradley is, that's why he picked him up.
lmao ok ..........bradley isnt a no body hes actually the best available oppenent for pac
no where near a 10 =1 underdog
hes very live the livest oppenent since cotto
and bradley will never be a superstar
u need a fighting style like pac
or a persona like floyd
and he has niether
You people are way overrating Bradley. His last three fights were against Abregu, Alexander and Casamayor. He ducked Khan. Without his viscious headbutts he can't even stop Alexander, another hype job. Give me a fvcking break!
Alexander, Bradley, these are small boxers Pac supposed to have ducked. Man, who the fvck did they beat? Where are they now? Pac fans were furious why Pac was taking on big guys where there is very little potential of getting credited. High risk, little credit. It was all about Arum's in-house agenda. Pac fans would have picked these small boxers had they were given the choice.
I'll have none of that sh1t. What a joke.
:usa:
Are Timothy Bradley's Headbutts Accidental Or Intentional?
I think his headbutts are like Holyfields. Not necessarily intentional but its pretty obvious they would come as a result of the way he fights.
I think you're right i think Arum wants bradley to win. Why do you think Arum was trying to get Ariza fired. I believe it's because Arum wants Pacquiao to fight clean and you saw how he looked vs Marquez, if he fights clean or without all that stuff Arum gives him then Arum believes bradley would probably win bradley will be a challenge regardless but if Pac is fighting clean Bradley probably wins. I think Arum really wants to cash Pac out. You can bet at all those casino's somebody bet 150,000 at one have one of your fmoney friends go to another bet 200,000 have another friend go to another etc, but we will have to wait and see what happens but i honestly believe Arum wants to cash Pac out!!!!!!!!!
this theory is dumb because for one, you would have to assume arum is trying to cash pac out which is silly to think and two, in order to truly cash him out by gambling (you're talking well over a hundred million dollars) he and/or his "friends" would have to bet massive amounts of money, which would certainly be highly alarming and raise suspicions if all these people suddenly made tens of millions of dollars from this fight and if any of these people can be linked to arum the scam would be up.
It would be idiotic to do such a thing and it simply doesn't make any sense.
On top of all that, there is no reason to think bradley can beat pacquiao. He doesn't have the power to do so and he's not going to win 7 out of 12 rounds.
:lol1::lol1: He thinks Arums friends will go into the casinos and drop millions and nobody would blink an eye. The casinos are there to make money too, if they see something unusual, they will decline to take the bet.

You really think Arum is going to place a large bet on the fight unnoticed? Is he even allowed to place a bet on a fight he is promoting? That is retarded. He doesnt make money that way, he makes money off the PPV sales. Ideally when Pac looses, he looses to someone young and marketable that they can also milk for a long time. But that has nothing to do with the betting odds of the fight.
I really dont see Bradley winning this fight. He can fight off the back foot but he doesnt really have the counter punchers mantra that seems to give manny fits. He will mostly likely avoid being koed but I dont see him winning unless he decides to fight a little dirty.

Pacman is done & Bradley will easily outpoint him & be robbed on the cards. If it's a conspiracy fine. However Pacman cannot adapt & will be beaten soundly.
i beg to disagree, easily outpointed, when was pacman ever an easy opponent?? torreocampo okey but get real ....

This makes 0 sense.
Lets say you take your under dog at 10-1 ok cool. now lets say you bet $1 million dollars for a profit of 10 million. The promoter is probably making close to 3-4 times that on the fight alone. So now from a "business" stand point, he would have to wager around $5 million at those odds to show a "profit". You cant just walk into a casino and bet that kind of money straight up, most casinos will not take action that big.
So now he would have to piece it out and let horses put lots and lots of smaller bets which involve other people. Now more people know about your little "scam"
The point is why would ANY promoter in his right mind risk losing $30-40 million for just keeping the fight legit???
It makes sense if allot of specific people gamble one way. Arums friends people who have financial clout.
Bradley taking the Torch is not really to make Bradley a star, is set up so many possiblities for the next group of fighters on the rise
you could do the Winner of Rios/Gamboa vs Bradley at 140, you could do Bradley vs Peterson/JMM...I am not a Arum fan at all, but the man is always thinking AHEAD
he don't give a fuk about protecting Pacquiao's legacy, if Pacquiao is truly going to retire after this fight then I think it is a very good chance that he will lose this fight, this is why I think things like "Concerns About Pacquiao Being Motivatived For This Fight" "Pacquiao Retiring For Religious Purposes" all of these things are being Mentioned so if he loses the Criticism won't be as bad or his legacy won't be tarnished, people will just say "HE LOST HIS PASSION FOR BOXING"
These conspiracies are taking away from Bradley though, I don't think Bradley need anything to be fixed or any type of "PASS THE TORCH" conspiracy, I think Bradley will be a VERY THOUGH FIGHT or Pacquiao...VERY! Win, Lose or Draw
You said it! Not me arum was getting him to fight soup cans for the longest time and now. All of a sudden a real legit opponent? Who just so happens to have a style that can give Manny fits. It only makes sense for one man, ARUM!
hate to shoot holes in that theory but Bradley is waste to pass the torch too he will never sell out an arena he doesn't have the personalty No charisma, he is ugly as fuck and most importantly his fights are sometimes painful to watch
But that was his point. Bradley is who? No one. Ask the common fan who he is they have no clue! In that case people voting will expect pac to win but the odds are so stacked if you win a 10-1 bet... it's retarded! 100 = 1000 you bet 2 million and well it's not 20 million! i think allot of people are going to make allot of money that night.
Look at how he treats pac... smh... no respect! patted him on the head the last jmm fight... manny is a none person to Arum.
This makes 0 sense.

Pfffft..Then you are goin to come out with tons excuses after the fight when Pac wins.. The same way that you did with Pac-Cotto...
