Elie asks a lot of whack questions and says a lot of stupid stuff but he gives the fans good behind the scenes videos of fighters/trainers relaxing/training. Im sure he has made a lot of people fans of Brandon Rios and Robert Garcia and he used to have good videos at Wildcard Boxing Club as well. Boxing needs more reporters to do good footage of fighters training and see what their personalities are like. Fighting on HBO/Showtime twice a year is not doing the job and they need to give the fans an opportunity to get to know the fighters. I like the new HBO series 2 Days that have featured Brandon Rios and James Kirkland and I think that is a smart move on HBO's part. I would also recommend HBO to give guys like Saul Canelo Alvarez air time on 24/7 to introduce him to a wider American audience. 1 thing I do like about Elie's channel is how he is at local gyms and you see amateur Boxing and you see a lot of just uncut stuff that happens at the gyms. I think it would help Boxing a lot if there was a lot more local reporting on gyms in wherever the reporter lives. I just feel there is tons of Boxing content out there and that there is really no platform for it to betold. What you guys think?
He definitely gets good footage, but he just comes off like such a dweeb to me. Most of the Gym owners I assume don't mind him being around being it helps their gym get some exposure. But considering he's actually done real journalism with some real companies, you'd think he would be more knowledgeable of the sport or at the very least not sound like someone on this forum grabbed a camera and walked into a Gym and just started Q&A'ing random trainers / fighters.

It would but ones who aint as annoying as ellie seckbach! without stupid music or a stupid voice
Completely agree with the statement that boxing needs more reporters.
BoxingScene had some bald dude who used to do these type of interviews with top fighters regularly around 2006 (when I joined the site). MMA has a load of notable reporters like Ariel Helwani, Karyn Bryant, Megan Olivi and many others who give TOP quality coverage for every UFC such as interviews, training videos, and radio/podcasts input.
I made a thread about this a few months ago but met with no response. Elie Sechbach is a really annoying guy, with blatent bias reporting which favours guys from the Garcia camp. The way he asks questions, his tone, the quality of his videos all suck BUT I respect him for covering the sport. I am from England which has limited top fighters but if I was in the states I would seriously think about starting up a site which covered this sport with proper interviews, just look at mmafighting.com and see what Ariel Helwani does. Massive props.
Elie is hilarious. This guy calls anyone that wears gloves a "boxing legend." Someone look up the video... I vaguely remember him calling Zab Judah a "boxing legend" leading up to the Khan/Judah fight.
At the least, he's very entertaining.
He called Paulie Malignaggi a legend as well.
The guy is genuinely enthusiastic about the sport, I'll give him that much. Also, I like the fact the he's still talks Floyd/Manny even though the fight is dead. Boxing fans and so-called boxing experts are too jaded -- and rightfully so -- about this fight, but Seckbach is out there keeping the hope alive.
I agree in that he doesn't know much about boxing, doesn't know who to focus the camera on, asks dumb questions, but as a boxing fan I am thankful that he goes out there and fills us in. Hopefully he continues to hustle this hard.
even Elie's voice gives me a chuckle some times, he's got like a little prepubescent voice sounds like he's 15 xD but I like the guy, he tries. And any coverage of boxing, even if it is from someone who doesn't know much about it, is a good thing in my book.
I found the video. First question: What's it like to be a boxing legend?:

Unrelated, but definitely noteworthy... Check out this opening sequence with Elie punching at the screen:

PURE COMEDY.
