MANILA, Philippines -- Boxing superstar and Sarangi Rep. Manny Pacquiao is considering retiring from boxing next year.
Pacquiao said his upcoming bout with undefeated American boxer Timothy Bradley Jr. on June 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas may be his last fight.
This also means that his much-awaited dream fight with American Floyd Mayweather Jr. may never happen.
Pacquiao explained it may not look good to be seen fighting in the boxing ring now that he has accepted the Church's offer to become a Bible ambassador.
He said he may just focus on his political plans and reading the Bible.
Last month, Pacquiao disclosed during a one-on-one interview with Dyan Castillejo that he has renewed his faith and has turned his back on vices, including womanizing, gambling and drinking.
If Pac losses to Bradley, look for a rematch next year, by November 2013, Manny regains his pound for pound status, shared with Floyd. and he announces his retirement saying "we waited around for so long to fight Mayweather but he doesnt want us."
There will be NO Pac vs May fight after Cotto takes that 0 away, I'm telling you get prepared for it, biggest win in PR history. Floyd will go to jail and not be the same, retire after that maybe. All the stars are aligning for that -- Pac even retiring? That's crazy! That fight was never meant to happen, Cotto and PLD will not let this opportunity pass up, it's his time.
The stars will not be aligned in May.
I look forward to some sweet body shots from Cotto... However at the end of the day, Mayweather will win and he will look good doing it. Doing it to the point that people will say it was not even fair and that Cotto should have retired years ago etc...
Nobody from 140-154 beats Mayweather and no matter who Floyd steps in the ring with, he would be the betting favorite to win.
Floyd needs to move up to MW in order for the stars to align perfect.

He has reach the pinnacle of boxing and has had a long and great career. Nothing left in boxing for him to achieve.
Fight Bradley, rematch Marquez and call it a day
Nah thanks. I rather stay in the SOG bandwagon since I truly believe he will be #1 P4P pretty soon. I have learned two things in recent years never bet against Pac or May they will prove u wrong. Poor Tim will find out soon enough.
That's what people all thought about every heavy favorite fighter back in the days -- but when you take away the modern politics and put best vs best, NEVER is not an option -- Pac and May have been carefully match-made and have won questionable decisions (JLC & JMM) -- both have pathetic excuses for most of their recent competition -- and underdogs who have proven to upset these monsters have proven the "bet on him all the time" type of guys wrong. Consider Ali's first loss for example. Or Buster Douglas' win over Tyson -- completely unexpected. Each fight is different, as long as best fights you can't always put your money on the same person. Not telling you you have to worry about Cotto or Tim winning, just that May and Pac are beatable and have been beaten before.
Something about Bradley doesn't have star quality about him. Pacquiao had that aura of a nice guy in a dangerous sport thing going on. Plus the fact that he was Asian. Kind of like what Jeremy Lin is now in the NBA. I feel like Bradley doesn't have a personality.
He is still Asian... or did I miss something?
god is messing with pac for real. He's been losing that fury and passion steadily for the past years and ive noticed it. He is so great he keeps winning but that fire is slowly fading. Forget god Pac, just do good and stay aggresive and hungry. Im afraid he'll fight bradley with compassion and he wont fight floyd with the anger he needs to to fokk him up real good. He'll still win just not fokk them up for life like he did to tony.
i'd agree partly with the god/compassion thing. but i blame his opponents more than pac. these guys beg for fights and when they step in the ring they just run and fight backwards. man, how can you beat the champion by fighting not to win but to survive? pac in his usual character of entertaining the audience has to do some bruce lee thing stupid fans expect him to do.
pac needs to learn to fight like a champion and not always fight like he's the challenger. let them come in and fight, and not the other way around.
If this is true, at least we have a time frame of when Bob will actually make the fight with a fighter like Mayweather. Bob and the pac will cash out.

It's gonna happen.......get on the bandwagon before it becomes the in thing.

he is definitely retiring this time, he's gonna be a governor in 2013 plus the catholic church always wanted him to quit
if he does, he'll sh*t all over Floyd's legacy (now known for not fighting Pacquiao) and Flomos wont ever have the satisfaction of having beaten the fighter of the decade
The Catholic church doesn't stop him from ******g tons of women and having a good time. I don't see why it would stop him from making millions of dollars more than he would as a politician.
You are praying he doesn't fight Floyd.
i'm playing along with this silly mind/blame games stupid fans have been playing here for years now.
i used to be interested in the fight, brah. i noticed that it's no longer the fight dumb fans in here are interested in. it's the silly mind/blame games they're more focused on instead of the fight. i noticed that dumb fans in here get excited and actually very happy when they get to blame arum/pac. remember when pac was on video saying he's amenable to the test? dumb fans, instead of partying like crazy and take it as good news they took it as bad news. it seemed like the world fell down on them.
yep. that's how it is now. blame everyone but the pu55y.
you wanna play blame/mind games? okaaayyy. you got it.
it's simple, actually. if i were a flomo i'd stop defending pbf's excuses. i'd probably tweet him 24 hours a day and tell him he's denying me the chance to see the pacman lose. i'd be mad as hell.
know what i mean?

hahaha, ohhh lol
So this is their strategy to increase ppv buys for the Bradley fight.
Well i guess this is his way compared to Floyd's name dropping
Good Riddance. Bye bye to all the pactards.I don't care if he wins or loses or becomes heavyweight champ...just hurry up and leave so all these damn pactards go away...they infested boxing forums like ****roaches for too long
come on pacman, make it happen this year, win or lose!
could care less if you've become a born against or stay a womanizer. just make it happen, pacman!

Eight division champion. Cry about it more.Good for him.
He managed to make it through his career avoiding PED tests, fight at advantages featuring padded gloves, catch-weights, ring size, glove size, and the arsenal of excuses he uses before and after his fights. And most of all, dodging the most valuable fight again Mayweather
And honestly you can't help but to laugh at this comment. It's ridiculous. Manny is taking that "humble pride of the phili..." crap waaaaay too far. No one cares about it.
Pacquiao might have really told Arum he was retiring next year, so Arum has to have a new PPV star once Pac is done.
Remember Arum tried to get Ariza fired i was thinking maybe Arum doesn't want Pac on the juice for the fight and he wants Bradley to win and they can market bradley as the guy who beat Pacquiao. Since Arum is only gonna get a couple more fights out of Pac.
Pac wasn't on the juice vs Marquez probably because they figured since marquez is moving up in weight and he looked bad against mayweather that plus marquez isn't some 1 punch knockout guy so they figured they didn't need it and he looked human Marquez put on a clinic
Arum probably figures if he fights like that vs Bradley pac has a chance of loosing which he doesn't mind because Pac only has a couple more fights but if they juice then Bradley doesn't stand a chance. Thats one of the few reason i think of when he is trying to get Ariza fired he doesn't want Ariza to juice Pac this time because he May actually want him to loose cause Pac might have manned up and said 2 or 3 more fights and im done forreal and we know how Arum operates arum was probably like ok while thinking of a way for Pac to loose Arum is like nobody tells me when they are retiring i own you ima teach this effer a lesson im mean i don't know that's what i think is going on could be wrong.
