Sorry I thought this was a boxingscene.com not ancestry.com.
Who cares, Mongolia could claim Martinez seeing how the Genghis and Kublai rampage through Europe.

Inb4 snooki isn't Italian but a Chilean that got adopted by Italian parents
You cant determinate the country by the surname. Martinez is a common spanish surname.
He still is probably part italian I mean what was the percent like 86% of argentina is euro and by far mostly italian. He looks a bit italian too if you ask me.
he may be of italian descent but his national origin is argentine,, argentina is full of ethnic europeans but the fact is they are ARGENTINE PERIOD
But saying argentine is like saying "American", they are melting pots filled with people from all over. Actual natives of Argentina are very rare.
his birth certificate says Argentina. so he is. Its just like how 80 perfect of mexicans think they have aztec blood but are most likely of arab or jewish decent. stupid people out there. Dang i really hate dumb mexicans-american like fernando Vargas. uneducated mexicans are the thing that i hate the most.

All true and it's possible he has some Italian blood but Martinez is a Spanish name.

Messi also has English ancestry (according to the man himself on MUTV), which I believe explains why he is so white.
Could Sergio martinez actually be italian or part italian?
well obviously he's not Italian given that he's Argentinian
part-Italian? there's every chance that there's some Italian blood there, but when I think of someone being "part-" something I wouldn't get thinking about too far back in the family tree or it becomes about a millionth part, which to me becomes slightly irrelevant

It´s pointless, he is argentine, mainly of spanish and greek descent. He probably has some italian descent since in argentina there are many italians. Anyway, i think Locche, Bonavena, Acaballo and Coggi were argentine boxers 100% italian blood.
