forgot to mention with hurts hands & dropping the so called puncher in the fight.
exactly, Arce is too slow and stays right in front of Donaire, i see a Darchinianesque or Montielesque KO for Doanire in that fight. Arce might have to retire!
That injury was not back in the second, if you have a broken hand and you wait 30 minutes to take the glove off, your fingers will look like Italian sausages
Like Pacquiao...Donaire should not be matched up with defensive/Fearful fighters like Narvaez and Vasquez. It encourages Nonito to open up to make the fight exciting and when he does...he gets hit alittle and will be accused of poor defense (Haters I tell you) And these same haters want Nonito to fight and even more Clotteyesque fighter in Rigo. Ayayay...........
You mean cherry picking? You the best you have 2 fight the midgets and the wizards, the powerful and the weak, the Vazquez and Nishiokas, the Whitakers and Rigondeauxs, there's no other way around to b called the BEST...
Wow. Only in BS where your considered a Bum while moving up a division, dropping the conservative defensive fighter and out classing him 9-10 rounds...Only in Boxing Scene

You said WV2 would ko Donaire, now you think Arce will beat Donaire? gtfoh.

These WV2 fans are downlaying the win since Papito made it to the bell and thyre using Rigo so people wont discuss about the win :lol1:
LOL at these b1tches saying Donaire aint got defense. He had to put his hands down for WV2 to come in since he's pretty much turning up to be another Narvaez up to Round 4. WV@ didnt came to win like Narvaez he was more c0cky during the presscon :lol1:
and after the Montiel fight you would of said he is the best fighter in the world, smh. You're only as good as your last fight in boxing fans eyes but you need to take in account style matchups and just the overall fact that no one looks perfect, every time out. Donaire is an exceptional talent and will do well at his new weight(s). Rigo ain't sh1t if you ask me. Using boxingscene logic, Rigo looked like sh1t against Cordoba and probably should of lost. Donaire cruised last night and would never have a close fight like that against a guy like Cordoba at this point in his career.
good point
im not one of these people that are really calling for that fight anyway
i think gamboa or chris john would be much tougher tests
It was his first fight at 122. He fought a decent and tough opponent. He knocked down his oppenent once. He fought with an injured hand. He won.
Lol can't see why people are mad.
haters gonna hate? i think he beats everyone at 118-122 besides rigondeaux, to me that's a tough fight to call. for now, i'll go with donaire based on professional experience but we'll see what happens.
it is expected that nonito would not be very impressive tonight because it was a test for him to fight a bigger opponent and vazquez is a skilled/strong fighter (former champion).
i think nonito did more than enough to prove that he is a P4P fighter, despite of the injury. he dominated the fight (disregard the scorecard), dropped vazquez and willing to trade power shots, but unfortunately vazquez was not willing to engage... imo, vazquez felt the power of nonito on the early rounds that's why he changed his fight plan to defense mode to prevent getting knocked out or maybe he realized that nonito's skills is too much for him..
for me, nonito passed the test in this weight division and he will probably become undisputed at 122...

that injury does not account for his horrendous defense and his inability to open fighters up. to me, its a cop out. he got beat up pretty bad by a fighter everyone claims doesnt open up. yet, i saw a lot of places donaire could have attacked, like the body, which wv2 left wide open.
Can't argue that his defense was poor and has been now for his past two fights, but possibly he didn't open as much as he should have due to the injury. I'm not sure. It looked legit just from the way it bled through the wraps. Either way, right now, he's gonna have a lot of problems with some of the better fighters in the division.
I wasn't impressed with Donaire tonight, but I won't hold it against him due to the injury which appears to have been legit. While he did beat Vazquez convincingly, it was still competitive. I felt Donaire looked sloppy at times. His defense has really looked weak in his last two fights and is going to lead to problems in the future against sharper opponents like Nishioka & Rigo. However, like I said, it's hard to overanalyze this due the injury.

I was PRAYING that GSP would jump in the ring and tell Nonito that he was not impressed with his performance, then he would jump on a plane fly to Vegas and get into the octagon and catch Condit and tell him the same thing. AWESOME FANTASY!

not impressed he fought a guy a shot arce beat for crying out loud. :tapedshut
I will be impressed if he does that against the best 122 pounder in nishioka.
Arce was losing the fight before the stoppage! Donaire was more dominant against Vasquez even with the Injury!.
For the Rigo nuthugger, Please watch his fight with Cordova to see his boring Flaws! I dont care for Rigo now, He doesnt bring fans & he's so boring!!
Anyone who has seen my threads/posts here knows I've always supported donaire. Fact is for a guy considered P4p material he did not look so special and he got shook a few times by a guy arce killed. I'm not denying donaire is special but lets look at his career he's 5'7 been picking on tiny 5'2-5'5 guys.
Rigo would beat him up @ 122
Gamboa would give him permanent brain damage @ 126
its his first fight at this weight class and he won comfortably with basically one hand. yeah he was still throwing with it but if it wasn't jacked up he'd probably stop vasquez earlier. donaire took some rounds off and should of let the right hand go more but he still controlled the fight. that score of 115-112 for vasquez was a joke.
Nonito has fought a long list of champions, Darchinyan, Montiel, Mathalane, Tyson Marquez, Vasquez jnr.I thought Vasquez was a fake champion because he won a vacant title beating 19 year old sonsona. I was suprised. He is no fake champion like RAMOS, that's for sure.Vasquez is tough. But Donaire is way to cautious he doesn't let his hands go.When he does let them go, they are all power shots. He just needs to stop being a KO artist, he is not a 1 punch kO puncher, he has power but not great power. Just box, ain't going to look good against champions might as well BOX.Stop trying to KO everyone.
And with the same thinking, WV2 could've been put to sleep early as well. Let's remember which fighter was clearly rocked early in the fight WHILE they were covering up and was forced to turtle up in a corner.
Yeah that was an amazing left hook from donaire... he threw it from an odd angle, barely landed it cleanly, and yet he still managed to rock Vazquez with it.
