1. Justin Juuko - Cotto (W)TKO 5th round and Mayweather (W)TKO 9th round
2. Victoriano Sosa - Cotto (W) TKO 4th round and Mayweather (W) UD
3. Demarcus Corley - Cotto (W) TKO 5th round and Mayweather (W) UD
4. Zab Judah - Cotto (W) TKO 11th round and Mayweather (W) UD
5. Shane Mosley - Cotto (W) UD and Mayweather (W) UD
Other than Mosley Cotto has done better than Floyd against their common opponents. Also Cotto beat Mosley 3 years before Floyd did.

Cotto had the better results/performances, Mosley aside. But in fairness Cotto is a more aggressive guy and the harder puncher so it doesn't quite tell the story plus Mayweather faced everyone first aside from Mosley and thats the one fight he looked better in.
I dont think we can read to much into this stuff but its a good bit off fun so thanks for highlighting it :boxing:
I would say Floyd beat Chop Chop pretty bad and was certainly trying to take him out, maybe not the whole time as he realized it wasn't going to happen but he certainly gave stopping him a try. That was also his first fight at 140.
Judah also got beat bad in the end, Floyd looked on his way to stopping him before the riot then jsut kind of cruised after as the moment had passed. It was his second fight at welter although his first against a guy who actually did anything at the weight.
Except for Mosley, who Cotto fought a much better of, it is clear to anyone but a blind nuthugger that Cotto vitories have outdone Floyd's every single time.
Not at all brother Floyd completely dominated Sugar Shane while Cotto earned a hard victory.
Terrible comparison due to different boxing styles. Those guys hit Cotto a lot more than they hit Floyd. Floyd would rather get the W by decision and not get hit than KO a guy in an all-out war. Actually, every boxer would, some just don't have the defensive skills to do it. Cotto is one of those fighters.

But Floyd fought them before Cotto did, so he fought the arguable better versions of these fighters. Except Mosley, of course. Cotto fought the MUCH better version of Mosley.
People forget the size in these fights. Floyd was super small. He was 138 at LW, 143 at SLW, and 146-148 at WW. Cotto was like 152 at SLW and over 160 at WW. He won alot of those fights, particularly at 140 on sheer size & strength.
I use to talk about it all the time back then. He looked like he couldve lost to guys like Corley & Torres not for him being so big & huge that they couldnt take it. With Floyd, all those guys were bigger than him at the time. You cant forget that part in those matchups
floyd got hurt against corley too, remember, and i dont think the stoppage was a gift, if not a bit pre-me. and sosa put up a good fight against floyd too, another very similar fight for both.
Sosa losing every round is putting up a good fight?
The Corley fight is one of those fights that proves Cotto has heart. He was badley hur. The stoppage was PREmature but it was coming regardless. May IMO looked better against the better comp(Mosley/Zab)cept' for maybe the first 6 rounds of Za/May fight.
he hasnt done better. unless u consider better knocking guys out, which isnt really floyds m.o.

I know Chop buzzed Floyd, but Cotto did the dance and held on for the duration. He was in more trouble than Floyd was, who played defense off the ropes while recovering and went on to dominate Corley in one of the most exciting rounds of his career.
I don't think the Sosa fight was similar. I thought Sosa was able to bang with Miguel until those bodyshots turned the tide. Sosa gave Floyd trouble in spots with his toughness and persistence, but Floyd was able to outpoint him safety-first relatively easy.

Mayweather beat every other opponent you mentioned years before Cotto did. So what's your point?
Also, Corley hurt Cotto far worse than he hurt Mayweather. And many feel there was a too quick stoppage in that fight. So what was more "impressive" is debatable.
I wouldn't call them landslides. Cotto was hurt badly by Corley and got a gift stoppage a little later. He also had a few competitive rounds with Sosa. Can't comment on Juuko, of all these fights Cotto-Juuko is the only one I've never seen.

What applies to Pac, applies to Cotto. It doesnt matter how they look against the same opponent. Styles make fight and they'll do whatever they do best.
better results? thats fair. because a knockdown is considered better than a ud. with that said, it wasnt like any of those fights were close for either fighter. they were landslides for floyd as well as cotto, well except judah i guess, who gave both trouble at points in the fight.

There really is no denying that, Cotto got the better results. They have different priorities in a fight - Cotto was out to beat guys up and Mayweather is/was safety first fighter.
