What do you think people would be saying??? Basically, take this forum of NSB and put it in those era's. What do you think the threads and posts by NSB posters would have said???
Here's a few we probably would see.....
"Ali is fighting Patterson...Liston's leftovers".
"Ali struggled and looked like s**t against Oscar Bonavena".
"Ali is content fighting Mac Foster, Buster Mathis...he's become a cherry picker".
"Frazier is already shot, he's Foreman's leftovers".
"Leonard is overrated, Duran whooped him the first time".
"Why is Ali ducking the Foreman rematch?"
What kind of threads do you think this NSB would have, if it were placed back in the 60's, 70's, and 80's????
Who does Aaron Pryor think he is to turn down half a million dollars to fight Sugar Ray Leonard?
Leonard is a greedy diva by only offering Pryor $500,000
Larry Holmes has ducked all the WBA champs.
Holmes is Don King's slave, he is not his own man like Leonard.
Salvador Sanchez is ducking Eusebio Pedroza
Muhammad Ali is Ken Norton's b!tch
I was there and there wasn't all the slime that you read about today.
The language and the generation were so different.
I scrambled daily for the sports page in the news paper , I watched all the Friday nite fights with Don Dunfee sp , CBS ABC sports casters like Howard Cosell gave the updates and promoted Cassius Clay who changed his name to Ali.
Ring mag and Boxing Ilustrated were great to read but about 2 months behind.
I never ceased to be amazed at the Internet posts on boxing daily, min to min updates and the forums !
Back in the day, it was waiting and hoping for something in the newspaper which may or mayNOT be there.
That is the point though, information back then was at a premium so people formed their own view on things because they didn't constantly get bombarded with information.
Now people get constant information lots of which is garbage so people get lazy with it and just follow the heard.
Many past fighters would get treated much differently if information was out there in the past as it is currently. I don't wish to go back because honestly I know no other way but it is interesting t think how guys in the past would have been handled under todays microscope.

Well he did kinda sorta duck him 4 awhile.
And what did Leonard do during that time, mad ammounts of blow~ I heard that is good for detached retinas though it heals'em right up
What was in that black bottle the one he mixed, Pryor needed that to beat up on Arguello that fight doesn't count in my eyes~ Arguello would kill him in a rematch!
Arguello became damaged good after the first fight, so I am still not giving Pryor credit~
Ray Leonard is faking this eye bull****, he looked like he can see just fine he is such a ***** for ducking Hagler and making excuses~
Dick Tiger is so scared of Bob Foster he is demanding an outrageous sum of $250,000 on top of his normal purse just to think about the fight, business is ruining the sport!
Fighters like Chuvalo, Cooper, Terrell, Bonavena, Lyle, would have been considered bums, like how some morons call Ortiz, Maidana, Alexander, all bums.
Prediction from 1980:
"In 2012 there will be two 250 lbs. brothers with the skills of Primo Carnera who will dominate a dead heavyweight division. These 2 brothers won's even qualify as sparring partners for Larry Holmes."
"The pound for pound king in 2012 will be from a Third World country where Ali and Frazier fought each other 5 years ago."
"Gerry Cooney is the next great White American HW".
Damn, that one would have happened.
"Larry Holmes is overrated, he was knocked down by Ronaldo Snipes".
"Does tyson beating Larry Holmes prove he's the GOAT at HW???"
S**t would be funny as hell.
The Internet has dumbed down the average hardcore boxing fan. It's why old timers and young fans that never saw those great fighters of that era fight hold them on pedestal. Great thread.
