How long does this last i think it would be a brutal war.
The Trinidad who fought Mayorga vs the Hagler who fought Hearns.
I say Hagler via brutal ko in round 3 or 4
People take it a bit too far with Hagler taking Hearns's right hands. He took some good right hands but not his best. Hearns was most dangerous with his right when he got distance on it to get full leverage (Cuevas, Shuler, Duran). Hearns stunned Hagler with a short right uppercut and then a looping right around the guard. Hearns landed some looping rights around the guard later at range, but not the devastating straight right with full leverage at distance that he used to take out the guys mentioned above.
That's not to say Hagler couldn't take it, but I think it does get a little overblown in this fight.
Regardless, Hagler outboxes and breaks down Trinidad.
Yeah, the only truly big right hand Hearns landed was that one that staggered Hagler for a moment at the beginning of the fight. Other than that, Hearns never was able to put leverage on a big shot.
I don't think Hagler had to fight Hearns on the inside, I think he wanted to. More than any other fighter I've seen, it was important to Marvin to be considered great. After he had been fighting so long to get to the center stage, I think he was in the best shape of his career and wasn't looking for something to be handed to him, he went out and took it
to be fair he stayed in Hearns chest and didnt allow him to gain leverage on that right hand.Tito doesnt need that room to crank that left hook of his..............
It was a while since I watched that fight. Re watched it and I agree he did stay inside, not to mention Hearns' right hand broke in the first round. So it can look like it wasn't that effective or as effective as it has looked prior to that fight.

I can also agree with this.
Tito was great at 147.why match him against a atg at 160 who has never even came close to being stopped?
This pretty much says it all. The word "monster" is used a lot around here. Hagler is one of the few men the word actually describes. Marvin KOs "Tito" in the early rounds if he takes the approach he did versus Hearns, in the middle rounds if he's feeling patient.

I think if Hagler handled Hearns' right hand, he could definitely eat Trinidad's left hook for breakfest as an appetizer. Hagler wasn't a joke, the guy was underrated beyond belief up until that Hearns fight.
Hagler by a 4th or 5th round KO.

Hagler outboxes Trinidad and stops him in the mid to late rounds. He'd take some good shots, especially as his legs and defensive reflexes were already starting to decline.
Hagler jumped all over Hearns because he had to. Hearns was so difficult to box at long range, and liked room to get full leverage on his right hand.
Hagler wouldn't have to fight this way against Tito, so likely he'd be more clinical and methodical as usual.
The thing about hearns is he gasses out. Trinidad doesnt. Hopkins beat tito cause he was much bigger, and he loved to hug and hold and smother Titos punches.
tito would present more problems for Hagler than Duran did IMO. Depending on the size difference, if they are the same size, I give Tito a chance for an upset. Trinidad would stop Duran.
It wouldn't be a cake walk for Hagler, Trinidad would have a tremendous advantage in speed and Tito can bang. I'm not saying that he would stop Hagler or anything, just that Hagler would have respect for his power. This one lasts a little while until Trinidad slows and Hagler finally lands something resembling a significant blow. It would end there or shortly after Hagler jumps all over his hurt man. Hagler Ko-5 Trinidad...........Rockin':boxing:
all that talking to say Hagler ko's him in 5???lol..what up Rockin how ya been??
ever seen this movie about your ex manager Jackie? http://culture.com/image_lib/7993_heading.jpg
good movie she got 1 fighters contract for a dollar
marvin hagler gets ridiculously underrated sometimes
he was not only a very hard man, he was a terrific boxer who wasn't ashamed to use his skills to slip punches and set up counters
he had a boatload of skills and a style that would give fits to a guy like trinidad, who could be outboxed
i think hagler would dictate the pace and box for a while before he stepped his offense up down the stretch and went for the kayo in the middle to late rounds.
you're talking about a different class of MW altogether
his boxing abilities and his chin would be the difference makers
when trinidad ran into wright, hopkins, and oscar (all sound boxers who could take trinidad's punch,) it showed that he could be outboxed
Well, then you think Hagler destroys Trinidad, because there is no chance he knocks Hagler out.
exactly.Hagler and him getting knocked out being said is just ridiculous.man had a extra thick skull
Im a known Hagler hater(well not hater I think he is severly overrated) and I think if he doesnt get KTFO in the first 3 rounds, then he proceeds to destroy Tito in 9 rounds and Im leaning towards Hagler owning tito!
Why would Hagler get ko'd?? we are talking about Hagler here
