Yes his resume is pretty weak and he isn't as proven as Ward Froch and Kessler. But you people seem to be underrating his talent. He is a legitimately explosive puncher with elite hand speed, great boxing IQ and great defense.
His physical tools are the best I have seen in the division since Roy Jones.
If you say so. I havent watched it in a while. I remember Bute hitting the deck and there being almost 20 seconds until the final bell rung
The final bell only rings once the ref finishes his count because of the no "saved by the bell" rule. The ref was too busy talking to Andrade or else he would have noticed Bute was up and had beaten the count no matter what happened the final bell was going to ring the second Bute beat the count
He took 7 seconds to get up, and there were only 3 seconds left on the clock at the time of the knockdown. No time left to do anything.
What aren't you understanding?
If you say so. I havent watched it in a while. I remember Bute hitting the deck and there being almost 20 seconds until the final bell rung
When the ref finishes the count. Unless Andrade somehow teleports to him and knocks him out in a split second, there was no time left to do anything. He was down with 3 seconds left FYI
He would've knocked him out with one more punch but the ref was too busy telling him to stay in a corner that he was already standing in.
Meh, Bute is a pretty skilled dude. The Andrade fight might have been one of the funniest chats I had on here. Daggum was destroying entire continents on the stream talk. I think Froch will be a big test for him. He starts dropping him with body shots, I will be impressed.
My opinion correlates with what the man who created the tournament stated. If you can find me a source stating Bute rejected any tournament offers upon the tournament's creation, I'd love to see it.
Carry on living in a bubble where you believe everything that is told to you...
Bute is on the ropes, that's fine. He was up, the fight was over. Mosley and Ali were both on the ropes after they were knocked down.
Unable to continue? Continue what? The fight was done upon beating the count.
that's not how the rules work, dude.
plenty of guys have been out or out on their feet with the soles of their shoes on the canvas.
you have to be ready to continue after ten seconds. those are the rules, and that's what the ref is looking for you to show him
check them out
Almost being KTFO certainly didn't hurt his drawing power whatsoever. Pascal was handled by Hopkins in their first fight, and people still came out in droves for the rematch.
Again, Hershman and Bute's team know more about the tournament than you ever will. Sorry man, their knowledge > your opinion.
Of course it didnt hurt his drawing power. His people knew they could still get Canadians to pay to watch him fight bums. So why risk him in the tournament?
Seriously, your argument is so weak, try to form your own opinion instead of using others. You might as well say Arum tells the truth all the time while you're at it.
I'll go with Hershman and Bute's team both stating that he wasn't invited, over what some biased euro poster has to say, thanks :bottle:
Biased? You're obviously up Bute's arse. You'll believe Bute's team? :lol1:
Yeah cos they're gonna say "hey our guy almost got KTFO, we're not gonna put him in with elite fighters until we milk his ass for what its worth fighting bums at home".
Use your brain.
i agree bute is underrated. then again its kind of what you would expect considering his position. not only is he in the strongest division in boxing, but all th eotehr top fighters faced of against one antogher while he was left out in the cold. looking at his career then comparing it to the other top 168lbers its very tempting to just brush him aside based on his resume, knowing these other guys took one dangerous fight after another while he took easy defenses makes you want to say hes no good. thats not the truth though.
looking at the way hes beating these fighters. looking at his skills, his physical attributes and everything else about him its just very hard not to be impressed. some fighters you can just tell they are top class regardeless of their oposition, and its not like hes fought bums. g.johnson is a beast even with a broken hand. he fought the way he did bcuz bute hurt him, something which is damn near impossible. that shows that his power really is world class, as is his other physical attributes, his boxing skills and his amateur background. the man is just incredible. cant wait to see him fight ward, froch, dawson, cloud or sillakh.

He beat the count but there was still time left for him to be KTFO.
They had their fighters picked out way before Bute went to HBO. You're not making sense.
Thats because you wouldnt see sense if it slapped you in the face.
Bute's people had no intention of risking him in the Super Six.
I'll go with what Showtime execs had to say over what you think. Thanks :)
Of course they were going to say that. They weren't going to say "he rejected us for HBO, catch him on there!".
Bute can sell a bunch of tickets fighting bums at home. His people wanted to milk that. Especially after he almost got knocked out by Andrade.
He got knocked down by Andrade, and beat the count. :op:
when a guy gets dropped the ref is supposed to pick up the official time of the knockdown in seconds from the knockdown timekeeper
if you count ten seconds after the knockdown bute is still reeling on the ropes like a drunk
by definition of the rules he's unable to continue and should be considered knocked out
bute should have a loss to andrade on his record
that being said, he's lightyears beyond the fighter he used to be these days and his rematch with andrade showed that
hard to underate a guy who's best win was vs GJohnson. Any quality 168lber would have KOed him in that 12th vs Andrade. His team offered Kessler peanuts to come to Canada for a fight. Froch might come to Canada for a fight to make 350k while Bute makes 1.2 mil but Ward sure as hell ain't gonna. Bute might actually be a good fighter, but to call him underated at this point is a joke
What was he supposed to do? Fight bums on showtime? All of the top guys were tied up into a tourney he wasn't invited to.
He never had any intention of being in it.
It's not too hard to realize that he actually wasn't invited. They wanted 3 black americans vs 3 white euros. Use your head son.
Its not too hard to realize that his team preferred him to fight bums at home on HBO and milk him for what hes worth.
