Guy's I'll be in Vegas for the first time ever this Feb.:birthday: The weekend ortiz v berto 2! So yes I'm going to find way to go.
My question is, i'm going to be accompanied by my wife.
(1). Should i buy two tickets or just one ticket and upgrade my seat? She's said it's upto me.
(2). Is a fight at the MGM fun by yourself?
My fight ticket budget is $700.00. Ticket master's only has $300.00 tickets available as their "best" seats so i can buy two. Or buy a $700 from a re-seller.
(3). What site would you use for this? I've looked at stub hub and ebay.
(4). Should i buy a ticket now or wait till i'm in vegas for a better deal? (My gut tells me buy now, but it's not a HUGE boxing event so maybe more tickets will become available on site??)
Any feedback and tips will be GREATLY appreciated
Will bump soon.
Last question (5). Any events scheduled yet fight week were I can meet the fighters? Maybe at weigh-in?

Hang around the lobby of the host hotel...everyone associated with the fight will be in and out all day...check the lobby bar etc...also, take her out to RED ROCK CANYON, get a rental...only takes 20 minutes to get there, she'll like it a lot I think...
Was thinking about making a topic on this myself! But i'm going in May for the floyd fight. I was just wondering if anyone knows if there is any possibility at all to get a hotel room at Mandalay, Bellagio or any of the major strip hotels, when your not 21. We're 3 guys who are all 20, and one will be 21 a couple of days before we leave Vegas. I had no idea you had to be 21 to rent rooms in Vegas lol, since 18 is basically the age limit for everything here in Norway.
Thanks for any feedback:)

as for fight tix, buy scalped tickets at the venue the night of the fight, there will be a sh!t ton of dudes walking around selling tickets, with some shopping around you can get SWEET deals on tickets, i've had awesome tix buying this way, i live here in vegas, this is what I do 99.99% of the time when going to fights.
i've had $800 tix for $200 bucks, ring side, all that, i've even been given press credentials to be smuggled into a fight, with the usher being in on it, holding the whole row for the guy to keep using the same pass to fill it all up, and that was at pacquiao vs morales II, a big fight......
there are a sh!t tone of tix that get bought up by the casino's for comps, gamblers could careless about a fight and sell them to gamble with, they ALWAYS give them WAY cheaper than face value because they want to make sure that it sells as well as they know the longer they wait the value goes down, and what do they care, they dont' care about boxing and the tix was free, more or less for them, but i've gotten rad tickets for dirt cheap this way, and its' really the only way i get tickets unless we're trying to get a group all in the same place.
trust me on this, i guarantee you'll get a better deal than any other, minus getting some free sh!t.......... provided you shop around a bit and not take the first deal thrown your way, unless it's a sweet deal.....
this is my town, and if I am not getting a hook up, this is the way i go, and sometimes they've been better than the HOOK UPS!!!!!
tell your woman to stay home, go watch the fight and get hammered, Ortiz is gonna KO Berto in 3, which gives you plenty of time to hit the strip joints.
Buy the tickets when you get there.
The fight won't sell out so just get there early and stand outside of the arena, ask the dudes standing around if they got an extra ticket or they will come up to you. A lot of times friends bail or family members so dudes are stuck with extra tickets, other times the casino gives away a lot of tickets to employees and the air force base in North Las Vegas. Don't be afraid to negotiate!!! A lot of these people are desperate to unload the tickets so you can get good tickets for very cheap prices.
Don't worry about the security making a big stink about it, they don't give a $hit as long as you're discrete about it.

Point of No Return!!!!
Just booked the trip guys! And let me tell you this ish adds up.
Here is the break down for those considering a modest trip like mine.
Round Trip Flight from Houston total for two = $880
Two night stay at MGM Grand (where the fight takes place) = $403
Two Tickets (i have yet to buy) = $650
Total = $1933
Now that doesn't include food and a cirque du soleil show that I'm sure my wife is going to want me to take her.
So you guessed it by now, my wife is coming, but but she still may opt to not go to the fight (if i push for it). She'll ask for nice dinner and show but i may upgrade my ticket from two $300, to one $600. All depends on what trust worthy ticket resell sites have to offer.
BTW what the personal camera policy at these fights?
Lol
its a setup by your wife.
:haha: :haha: :haha: Sin City son, Sin City
I would wait until getting there, but the tough part is that it's a rematch to a very good fight so boxing fans would have a good demand to going to it...The seats that you mentioned are good enough for my standards so if you have the chance to get them now, go for them.
This is the best time of the year to go for a fight as weather is not that bad and other big events/conventions could be there at the same time...
One of the nice things about boxing being under the radar is these guys arent instantly recognizable to the average person. Even in Vegas 90% of people have no idea who they are. That means they can walk around like your average Joe without security or entourage which makes it easy to say whats up and snap a photo.
True...sometimes that happens in other cities, too...I saw Cotto here in Florida before his fight against Yuri Foreman, and if I didn't see his friends with him that had on promo gear with his name on it, then I would've passed him without recognizing him quickly...
its a setup by your wife. you better take her. just get two $300 seats. I wouldnt wait as the price can get tripled. by the scalpers Try ticketmaster 1st.
Fight would still be fun by yourself though. Chances are its a good crowd & exciting fight. People around you will probably be talking to you. Thats how it is for me when I go alone
LOL..Ur soo right.."Doesnt matter I'll go if u want me too"..She's trying to cheat..TAKE ur wife with u
Thanks for the response. Are the guys you met approachable? My thinking is that they a prize fighters so they have to be mean.
Anyhow how about the seats at the MGM for a boxing match

The $300 seats are in section 14, pretty good huh?
There really arent any bad seats in the Arena unless you are seated on the main floor and a ringpost obscures your view. Shouldnt be an issue for you.
Fighters are very approachable for the most part. They are out there to try to make new fans. The guys who are about to fight are really the only ones who are gonna be in that fighter mode.
Librado Andrade for instance was honestly one of the nicest guys I've ever met. He was actually walking around like a fan himself taking in the atmosphere and had me take a picture of him with the Hatton band with his digital camera after I snapped one with him.

I don't know how cool your wife is, but I'm leaning toward this because mine would be complaining afterwards for "leaving her alone" on a trip together.
I would wait to purchase until I am in Vegas. Worst case scenario isgas down on Fremont Street if you get a chance.

I would wait to purchase until I am in Vegas. Worst case scenario is you pay the same price. Best case you save quite a bit of money or get much better seats for the same price. Don't be afraid to negotiate.
I've been to fights by myself and still had a good time. You're surrounded by boxing nuts so it's pretty easy to make a few single serving friends.
There probably won't be anything where you can be guaranteed to meet the fighters, but if you walk around the Casino a lot in the days leading up to the fights you will have a great chance of seeing them coming and going.
When I was in Vegas for Maidana-Khan I met Marcos 2 days before the fight just walking through the lobby.
When I went to Hatton-Mallignaggi I met Juan Diaz, James Kirkland, Chad Dawson and Librado Andrade at the fight, so be watching out for other fighters as well. They will be out there trying to get a little publicity.
And just a general Vegas tip. Rent a car.
It costs $15 each way to be shuttled to your hotel so spend the 60-70 bucks to rent a compact and enjoy being able to go up and down the strip. You will want to check out Old Las Vegas down on Fremont Street if you get a chance.
