a few weeks ago the welsh manager (soccer) gary speed killed himself because he had depression becuase of this freddie flintoff (ex cricket star) made a show about sports stars who had depression during there career n ricky hatton was on it n he said tht after the mayweather fight the depression started, he then went on to say as he was walking to the ring 2 figth MP he new he was gonna lose because he had been getting beat up by all his sparring partners.
Do you think it was right 4 his team/family 2 let him go ahead with the fight if he was like tht in the lead up
I don't get how these sports stars can make all this money and then get Depressed, and cry about their life. still everyone is human at the end of the day.
Kind of ****s on Manny's 2nd round knock out tho if Hatton admits he was gash in sparring and Knew he would lose.
Ever heard the expression "Money doesn't buy happiness"? Kind of applies to quite a lot of people.
As it pertains to Hattons depression, WTF does Joe Cortez have to answer for? Hattons depressed because for ten years his British fan based assured him he was the greatest fighter of all time, then in his two biggest fights he got smoked
I'll say as someone who's suffered from depression there's nothing worse than having everything you need and still being depressed. Of course my everything was a loving family and friends but still. It sucks when you just sit there staring into space depressed and you have no idea why. So if your saying "why is he depressed, he's rich" you have no idea what you're talking about.
same reason B-Hop said he'd never lose to a white boy, it's pre-fight hype and psychology, he wasn't being literal
well i literally don't have a house anymore
if he knew he was going to lose why did he tell everyone to bet their house on him?

Joe Cortez has a lot to answer for
Meant to tune in for this, will catch the replay. Highs and lows of sport can be hard to handle, but the alcohol factor surely makes it 10x worse.
if u get the chance u should watch it, he actually says in the interview he started drinking more because of the depression

Not to sound gruff but at the end of the day it was Hattons decision to go ahead with the the MP fight.
If he second guessed himself he should have never signed to fight Manny in the first place especially with Floyd SR taking his training sessions so lightly.
