He's obviously more deserving of a big fight like that than either guerrero or alvarez. If Floyd fights him at 154 thats another championship and also some credit for moving up to face a world champ. I don't really buy that Cotto is damaged goods either. He's obviously past his prime but his only losses are to a cheater and one of the best fighters of this era. No shame in that. His opposition since pac hasn't been top notch, but if that's the case we would expect him to stop or knock those guys out...and he did.
A floyd victory over cotto means more than one over guerrero or alvarez in my opinion
come on man guerrero is a big joke, maidana is way more deserving of mayweather. Guerrereo is running scared of maidana, ducks him and gets a shot at mayweather? **** that
Maidana coudlnt even beat a shot to pieces Morales.
Let's be honest Guerrero destroys Maidana
That's a good question, I can only guess it might have something to do with the Cotto-Pac fight ending in quite a bloody victory for Pac. It was an incredible fight but Pac did kind of brutalise Cotto by the end. Thus maybe it's not such an attractive move for Floyd.
Also, Guerrero is a very hot ticket right now. His performance against a mean brawler in Katsidis, was flawless. So for me, Guerrero is equally, if not more of a tough fight than Cotto. Alvarez...my call is out on this kid for now, I think he's still too green to be linked to the likes of Floyd, seem to remember him fighting Cottos brother Jose and nearly getting floored.
Still got big respect for Cotto.

A good question indeed. I wish we would get to see that fight. physically, Cotto is not the best he's been, but he's smarter now, has better better technique and discipline.

Financially it make's sense (The 2nd biggest payday out there for him). However, he'd look like a hypocrite if he fights somebody Pac already beat (Called Hatton, Mosley, and Marquez his "leftovers").
He also already won a belt at 154 too.
