Very hard to decide who would win this fight. Wow that is definitely a pickem if Chad has his mind right and it seems he is fully back on track being with John Scully.
Chad should be fighting Anderson Silva and Bones Jones....not dudes like Ward and Hopkins...smh
Because only Bernard Hopkins is allowed to fight dirty. Poor old man, he might break his hip if his opponent actually stands up to his dirty fighting.
Ward wins easily, it's not only because I feel Ward's the better fighter but because Dawson will willfully at some point, probably mid way, make it an easy fight for Ward.

yeah, let's keep chad away from the fighters you like that he'd embarrass :lol1:
wow since when did Dawson become a mental midget? boxers are not allowed to have one bad fight anymore
It wasn't just in the Pascal fight. You can notice it in his last few fights. Even though he won, you can tell he has no killer instinct. He's been like that for years.
this is what i think. after that pascal fight, its hard for me to picture dawson handling a fighter like ward. and, mind u, i think dawson has more physical gifts than just about everyone in the higher weights except the kbros.
thats real talk!!!!!
I would like to see this fight take place in the octagon...where it belongs :boxing:
If Dawson comes in well prepared mentally ready hungry like he did with Adamek he beats Ward by UD. He was a beast when fought guys like Mendoza, Jesus Ruiz and first Johnson fight. But lately he let success get to him when he signed with James Prince and all the other ****.
If you're talking about him getting schooled by Ward, then that's because Wards is special. And as I said, it's the equivalent to Dawson's win over Adamek. Kessler was competitive against Calzaghe, even though he clearly lost. And there is no shame in Kessler having a competitive fight against Froch, considering Cobra gave Pascal hell, and handled Dirrell fairly well.
Either way, I fail to see how anything in Adamek's skillset (other than size) that makes him better than Kessler. I can agree to disagree that they're about even, AT BEST.
Well Dawson is special also, and he remains the only fighter around his size to school (or beat) Adamek. And lets not forget that Adamek pressed hard in the last few rounds (even though he was rocked big in the 11th) and closed the fight strong. And as I've said several times over the years, Kesslers performance against Joe is not as great as some people make it seem. It looked like a father rough housing with his son. The only thing I've seen from him in that fight was a few good uppercuts and decent right hands, in between an absolute masterclass by Calzaghe. Hell at one point, the referee even saved Kessler from going down from a body shot. That's pretty much all there is to be said on that.
And there isn't any shame at all against Kessler struggling with Froch (who i rate highly). But again we have a style issue. Froch tried to box and use the ring but hes not that kind of lateral mover/quick handed type like Ward or Joe are. Hes like his nickname, a cobra. He sticks his jab out to see when your next move is and has his right hand cocked so he can bait you, then he strikes when he sees an opening but pure movement/speed/fighting off the back foot is not his game.
Anyway, the difference between the two's skillset is as clear as night and day. You make it seem like going up in weight made his (Adamek) technical skills better, when in reality they were always good. Keep in mind that he was at a speed disadvantage against Cunningham and had to play the role of the stalker against him AND David Banks. Dawson did little moves and tricks that didn't allow him to be against the ropes and he would dictate everything behind his jab/speed and the 5 punch combinations made it even more of a nightmare for Adamek. Cunningham and Banks either got caught on the ropes, traded with him or just flat out gassed. 3 things that Dawson didn't do. Lets be honest, Kessler doesn't make the type of adjustments that Adamek does in his fights, his foot movement is not as good (see the Golota and Bell fights for examples) ect. Adamek has the ability to fight from different angles, effectively play boxer and stalker and is better at making adjustments. In which fights did Kessler effectively make adjustments in? In fact, if Froch had two more rounds, Kessler most likely have been stopped because of how gassed out he was.
honestly most toss up fight in boxing imo. everyone writing off dawson after the one bad pascal performance. he didnt fight that good with steward but he was cautious he had a new trainer. now he is back with scully and i think he feels he has a lot to prove, even though his resume is already legit. adamek, johnson twice, tarver twice, who are both still fighting at the highest level years after chad fought them. ward is the only one i see troubling him even at cruiserweight. ward is mentally strong, smart, and most importantly undefeated. he doesnt know how to lose as of now, and thats a very good thing imo
