Andre ward is the total package

If ward would have stepped on the gas froch would have be en ko. Wards punches hurt froch more than vice versa Nah dude, Ward had no gas to step on... He knew how to frustrate Froch, and just carefully avoided trading punches, coming back with lead, fast combinations and clinches to avoid replies from Froch. That's what I've seen. Ugly fight.

Wlad has stopped 5 of his past 6 opponents. Ward has gone the distance with all 6 of his past 6 opponents. Bute KOed Miranda, Ward could not. Johnson stopped Green, Ward could not. I'm talking about the Haye fight. But if you want to take it there, WK has been knocked out by average fighters. Ward has not.

If you have to resort to "bullying" the other guy by grinding your head into their chest and chin and holding their arms, then.........maybe a career in MMA is the more appropriate choice. Ward is very talented.....talented enough that he does not need to resort to the tactics he frequently uses to win fights....that's my gripe with the guy. Froch was also rabbit punching all night. If you're going to be consistent you should have a gripe about that too.

By definition he's not the total package because he doesn't have devastating KO power. He's extremely good though.

It would be interesting to see him againsy a feather fisted guy if he unloads more. He caught froch as flush as you could get several times but looked like he respected froch's power too much and pulled back pretty quick instead of following through.

Missing one thing KO power. Doesn't have big punching power but hits hard enough to get respect. Froch was backed up numerous times and wasn't walking through those punches for that reason.

What a f#cking joke. Floyd actually knows how to fight on the inside. Wards game on the inside is clinch, hold and hit, or lead with the head. Ward may not be as fluid as Floyd at fighting in the pocket, but he still get the same result.

So why do I find him so painful to watch??? He does everything well. I dare say he's probably more skilled technically and more versatile than floyd mayweather. But there's something about his game that I cant quite identify that just puts me off so much that it makes me feel like im watching a sloppy fight even though technically everything is on point. point is when you're 'flat out dominating your opponent' maybe you should actually try to finish the show and not continue clinching nonstop it makes you look like you're unskilled despite the fact that you're "dominating" The irony of this statement is the Klitschko-Haye fight in your signuture. I'm sure you didn't mind it in that fight.

When he fight off his back foot, He doesn't land his punches accurately too well because his timing isn't fluid enough. But he's just as good at fighting on the inside and outside as Floyd. nahhh. . . dude ain't no mayweather. . . he can't stand still in the pocket and "read and react", or time guys like floyd. . . can't catch punches with his shoulders and elbows like floyd. . nor can he actually PUNISH fighters with defense alone - floyd makes u pay for a well timed blocked shot with his sharp ass elbows. . floyd is still a few noticeable levels above him. .. rightfully so, he has about a decade's worth of experience. . . i think floyd would have put a much worse drubbing on a guy like froch. . . it's definitely the way he clinches, and the only time he really throws combinations is when he is coming off the inside clinch. . . he's definitely got a hopkins thing going on. . . That put it perfectly. His style isn't identical to Mayweathers. They both have good technique and can get low on defense but not much more.

Sorry mate, but technically you can't even compare him to Floyd Mayweather... Floyd's technique is just as good as it gets... Specially the defensive part. The main Ward technique is: lead-clinch lead-clinch, lead-clinch... Throughout the fight. Anyway we can say one thing on his behalf: he does that really well. He's probably the best tactical boxer in the world. But his technique is as ugly as it gets. On second thought, Andre Ward is probably the ugliest boxer to watch in the history of the sport. :)
