This is not a hate thread on Cotto, was rooting for him to beat Marg.
From what i remember, Cotto was pushing Marg on the rematch. Even Steward said something about it but more of a complement.
Khan on the other hand was push more compare to Cotto-Marg in his fight against Peterson.
Cotto got away with it 'cause he was in N.Y. If that shyt would've happen someplace else... Quitto would've been deducted. He got away with an illegal hit after the bell as well. No warning or nothing.
We can all agree that Margarito and Khan got phucked.... they had no chance.
 WOW
Alts on a rampage on BScene...http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/mysmiliesvb/mysmilie_816.gif

I'm not happy about the point deductions but Khan was a bit over the top. I guess the diff. was that Cotto did it the right way (I guess) while Khan was just blatantly shoving Peterson (even when there was not a need).
Cotto should've gotten disqualified.... no doubt[/QUO :wtf1: why do you hate Cotto so much?..did you offer him a rim job and he turned you down?...did the puertoricans Fukk you up in school as a child?....its not his fault dude....just let go man...let go of the hate....its alright youre grown up now.
the bottom line is the referee controls the fight..
and if he warns you for pushing multiple times, and you still push, then what's wrong with the point deduction?
The ref did it to keep the fight more even. Khan was already in full retreat for 75% of the fight. And anytime Peterson actually got close, khan would push him off. You can't run and push for the entire fight.. at some point you have to actually fight.
That's the referee's job- to make sure it's an even and fair fight.
Holly sh11t, finally a post that I can agree with you
I was fine with Cotto pushing and I was fine with Khan pushing. It was the same thing, Khan probably just did it a little more. But not enough to warrant two points being taken away, that was just a rough fight on both ends, let them fight it out.

What on earth?????? This is the type of post the reason why i dont post anymore. Well i do pics and gifs but, no words my goodness what you typed is completely, utterly http://i41.tinypic.com/erbbiw.jpg
he was being sarcastic... .
We should go back and review all the fights, ALL OF THEM, and deduct points whenever it occurs because clearly pushing is a foul and should be treated as such. Mayweather would be about 5-37 including when he ILLEGALLY dips his head below the waist and of course clinches, another illegal foul. In fact, I don't think anyone in boxing has really won a fight legally, unless it's like a 1 punch 8 second KO. Everyone else are some cheaters!

Pushing is pushing but shoving is a lot different. Imo Cotto was doing it in a settle way, after a combo and or while turning Marg...Khans was a...I don't like u in my chest, gtfo me shove!! I think there was a big difference between the two. With that said, I still don't think 2 points should of been taken without a hard warning...I agree with 1 tho!
You shouldn't be so quick to call people morons. The reason that although it's illegal it's often allowed, is because of the low intesity or occurrence, in a particluar fight. In Khan's case it was violent pushing, really "strong-arming" at times, rather jolting, with both arms fully extended. So it was very noticeable and completely unlike the generally minor pushing which is overlooked.
Actually it reminded me of the way a guy who's looking for a fight behaves in a bar.
A good ref just couldn't overlook it. And I thought that Cooper was a good ref.
A moron is just just below "low mormal". A "cretin", would be more apt.
Pushing is part of the sport, everybody knows this, just like clinching. They maybe "illegal" but they are allowed in almost every bout.
Those arguing different types of pushing are more acceptable then others are morons because pushing is illegal no matter which way you look at it or how many times you do it.
You cant pick and choose which pushing you find acceptable since all of pushing is considered by the rules illegal.

Lol, pushing so they can have enough room to run. /thread
Khan did it much more than Cotto who I believe started doing it in the 7th-8th round. With that said I still think it was totally ridiculous for the referee to take away points for the kind of pushing Khan did.
Also Smoger is possibly the best active referee out there so I doubt he would've taken points away from Khan if he was the ref for that fight.
Ref was overall pretty bad. Tripped and caused a fighter to fall down. Ruled a trip a KD and took 2 BS points away from a fighter.
I think the holding behind the head and pushing down was much worse than the pushing.
