Basically Peterson was pushing Khan up hard as he could whenever he had the chance. So basically what were Khans options?
If you can't push off, how the fukk can you fight? the only possible alternatives are to clinch and wait for the ref to break you up, or to punch to the back of the head...
So what should Khan have done?
Can someone seriously remember the last time a fighter was penalised for pushing?
Yes... I think Wlad Klitschko was deducted a point for pushing against some opponent in one of his title defenses.
He was pressuring to get work done not really the same Khan was using his forearm to push Peterson off because he doesn't know what else to do.
I understand that but its still pushing, which is an illegal tactic.
thats the thing. floyd does push off, just to create space. what khan was doing was shoving. shoving to get away. its not really the same thing. khan was much more blatant and it wasnt a legit defensive tactic imo. but floyd has gotten in trouble for using the elbow to push off in the past so thats pretty moot.
Who cares why he does it? If its an illegal move, its an illegal move.
So pushing off to create space is a legit tactic but pushing off to get away isnt?
What I dont understand is lamont was pushing khan into the ropes but the ref had no issue with that but when khan wanted to push him off he was shouting in khan's ear?!? No wonder khan suffered a perforated eardrum.
Peterson was allowed to push Khan all over the ring.
Khan wasn't allowed to push back.
****ty ref. I saw how bad that ref was from the get go.
This is basically what im saying. Even tho Peterson wasnt pushing off, he was still pushing. And i thought pushing was not allowed.
Your favorite fighter pushes off all fight. With his elbow nonetheless.

They aren't about to penalize you for being aggressive. Even if Peterson was pushing off, it was with intention, he was usually following it up. Khan was too blatant with it for me. It's like he couldn't think of another way to keep Peterson away so he would shove him, and a lot of times he wouldn't even follow up with anything.

The difference I noticed was Peterson was following khan with his push (sort of like rocky lol) whereas khan was doing that **** you see in a bar at night between to drunks( that get away from me push) lol.
there is no pushing in boxing, this aint no rocky movie
Then what was peterson doing to Khan most of the fight
Apparently pushing os allowed, but pushing off isnt
khan was trying to use an old lennox lewis tactic, hold you opponents head down with 1 hand and with the other throw an uppercut. He was pushing down on peterson all night. He also tried to put him in a head lock
Learn how to jab better so the fight remains at distance at a more regular basis since he has poor inside fighting but if you get crowded and can't push off there's your footwork ,uppercuts or hold and attack the body away from the refs view.
left hook, move to the left while pushing off with left hand after the punch lands(even if its on the guard), fire right uppercut if they turn to follow. control range with jab. repeat.
The ref backed Khan into a corner, he struggles to throw punches up close since he has the arms of a gorilla, so being told to fight his way out everytime didn't help... it changed the course of the fight.
