Let's be clear on a few points ... Khan is good for boxing and has a very good future in boxing. But, I think he remains UNTESTED, it is much too early for anyone to lay claims to GREATNESS when his competition has been less than adequate.
Khan is not there yet, but he's coming along. {This is a realistic statement of fact}
For many to speak like Khan is a world-beater based on his competition is completely ludicrous. And this is where I separate from the silly masses, this isn't hate, it isn't anything against Khan ... its just a statement of fact. Khan should have gone back and dealt with Prescott immediately after the KO loss. That act alone would have gone a long way towards establishing Khan as the guy to watch. But he sidetracked and started on the road of soft-targets, for whatever reason .... That's what he did. And he will never live that down.
The question: "Who should he have been fighting"
The Answer: Those very same guys that he fought. But those guys beaten by Khan don't make him upper tier or A-list YET!!!!!! It shows that he has the skills to beat guys he's supposed to beat consistently ..... nothing more!!!!
When he starts beating TOP talent in the division {140\147} then yes, he's on the road to greatness. Until then, he is still untested.
My posts about Khan are not HATE, just reality checks, for those who are claiming too much too soon. There is a world of difference in that sentence.
So Khan has done everything that can be possibly asked of him at this stage of his career then.
Thanks for that.

So, when guys put forth FACTS, that means they're haters???
Is that your logic???:bottle:
You should lol at yourself for even mentioning Judah who's been a done fighter looking for a paycheck for years. Maidana & Paulie who couldn't catch Khan {slow moving around the ring} McCloskey who lost by a CUT!!!! Salita who was and still is a home grown fighter, who's been fighting creampuffs his whole career. Barerra who was years into retirement and came back for a check.
Either you're in Khan fantasy-land or Don't know sh1t about boxing -- Take your pick!!
Look at his career record .... records don't lie!!!!!

So who should he have been fighting?
Lol so top 10 fighters like Kotelnik, Paulie, Maidana, Judah, and Lamont are selected on "weakness". But a tomato can who won the lottery once is a "dangerous opponent" that can "box and cut the ring off". Either you a hater or a d.ick rider. Take your pick!!!!

And risk that sh1t {Brutal KO} happening again? NO WAY!!!!!!
Khan is not going anywhere near dangerous opponents that can potentially take him out. His opponents are selected based on weaknesses that can be exploited ONLY. Any opponent that can really box, cut off the ring and knock the living sh1t out of him is not in consideration ..... ever!!!!!!

God I am gettin chills watching Lewis-Rahman 2.
What a fukkin 1-2.
Damn.
Two of my favorite fights: Lennox vs Rahman I & II
That took a lot of heart on Lennox's part because Rahman laid him out with a hell of a shot. And Lennox wasn't having that haunt him ... so, he went after Rahman and proved to everybody that it was a fluke .... He was the man in the division.
That's the way you erase bad memories, by replacing them with something in your favor.
You really gotta do it Lennox Lewis style like he did against Rahman in fight two.
A lot of people talk about the punch in fight one, but goddamn, I don't think I've ever seen a better 1-2 then when Lewis laid Rahman the fukk out to get his getback.

I think Kirkland will go through the same thing whether Ishida denied him for a second go around or not.
I think all fighter's go through that ... Its like a monkey on their back. No matter what Khan accomplishes moving forward, Prescott & others will always be there with him, reminding him of that past KO that wasn't cleared.
Thats 1 thing i dont understand, why didnt he not want immediate redemption?

According to Khan, he knew he was more talented than Prescott. He said he decided to fight on a religious holiday and he wasn't suppose to, so that's why he lost. He is at peace with himself, idk if I buy it.
At that time, he just got a new trainer who was a columbian also, like Prescott. I think that trainer actually selecedted Prescott abd seen happy when Khan got dropped.
I believe he had to go naked to make weight. So it was a good move and it should be made again.
why would a CUBAN trainer (which is what Jorge Rubio is) be bothered whether a Colombian beats an Englishman (/Pakistani depending on which ethnicity Khan chooses to promote at any given moment, and he does switch a heck of a lot)?
yes i agree with the second point, it is always preferable to not have nice young men getting naked in a room full of other men, regardless of the purpose. just seems perverse.
Khan wanted to move up in weight.
oh come on, so if prescott had said ok i'll move up too and we'll have a re-match khan would presumably have jumped at the chance then would he?
It's very simple. Khan had to be rebuilt after suffering a bad KO loss. He moved up in weight, got a new trainer, had a couple fights and on the way Prescott kept losing fights. Any time the rematch made sense, prescott would lose to a mediocre opponent.
This.........
