Tonight in Helsinki, Finland the Nordic Nightmare Robert Helenius takes on brit Dereck Chisora for the european championship.
Helenius is a massive draw in his native Finland so expect a big crowd roaring for the finnish giant.
Also on the card is Alexander Povetkin defending his version of the WBA title against Cedric Boswell.
Fights will be shown in Europe on ARD and TV2sport (delayed).
I thought Hellenius landed the cleaner shots and did more actual damage, but Chisora was busier, so it depends on who you think is more worthy: the busy aggressor or the guy landing the clean shots. Would like to know if Hellenius did have an injury, wasn't a good night for his rep despite the SD and Chisora comes out of this enhanced. He might get a Wlad shot after Mormeck after all.
Ever since the likes of Eubank-Watson, Benn-McClellan & Paul Ingle, fights have been stopped early in the UK.
However Chisora won that fight by 4 rounds on my card. The bodyshots killed Helenius, hope there is a rematch though. I think they'll definitely be slowing down the progress of Helenius.
nah that's just an excuse british refs use to help the A-sides win easier. look at khan-prescott, enzo mac-frenkel, haye-mock, etc.... they were completely gone and the refs let them keep fighting anyway. their opponents would never be given that chance if they were that hurt.

This is classic European boxing; bias and robbery don't happen often in American decisions.
Things like this hurt boxing's credibility.
close fights aren't robberies man. decisions like that happen everywhere. what i do hate about UK boxing in particular is the bs domestic tko decisions when refs stop the fights too early.
i was disappointed too, but beforehand i predicted that chisora might be able to maul him on the inside and get more punches off. . .
it definitely wasn't a robbery, though. . . i thought helenius won 7 rounds with clean, effective punches. . .
I normally dont use the term robbery as a lot has to do with the eye of the beholder. I must say though, that a lot of the rounds where close, but I think I swayed a bit towards Helenius in those rounds as I'd expect the judges to be swayed by the crowd. That makes me say that this was one of the worst decisions I have seen in a very long time.
Of course it's food for thought that a brit commentator had it for Helenius. Maybe a rewatch could alter my opinion.
Well maybe at ringside you could tell that Chisora didn't land. On my TV it looked like he did. I think it was a bad decision and I was dissapointed in Helenius effort and output.
Kessler can't expect anyone to travel to fight him with the Sauerlands robbing people blind at every turn.
Any manager who allowed his fighter to go fight a Sauerland fighter overseas would have to be declared incompetent.
