HBO Cutting Its Boxing Budget In 2012

Haymon is whats wrong with HBO. We have an abundance over his overhyped fighters taken big paydays that the don't deserve. How long were we force fed hype jobs like Cris Arreola, Andre Berto and others? I really hope hirshman nips this is the bud because they are already trying to force guys like Russell Jr and Broner on us.....smfh. Well for those that did not know showtime is tons better than hbo boxing as it is. This only means that showtime will get better. Remember its hbo with all the overpayed fighters, not showtime.

They should pay fighters based on rating of their opponent, and their performance. Wanna fight a bum? No problem, but you're getting paid a maximum 50k $ for it. Things like Berto and Bradley fighting lines of bums for millions is what's killing boxing. But I think HBO told Berto to fvck off with a Bailey fight so now Berto is all of a sudden "willing" to fight Ortiz. Duuuuh?! Then Pacquiao would always be broke. :\

Theres to many fighters getting overpaid.Fighters like berto,martinez,williams dawson,now u got donaire making close to 1 million bucks a fight??WTF People talk about canelo being a bum and hype job and yet he still has a bigger fan base with all those guys combined.

Hershman turned Showtime into the little engine that could with a fraction of HBO's budget, even a diminished one. Will be interesting to see if he can right that sinking ship. This could be a good thing if played correctly.

I think that's a good thing imo. All the over paid fighters can just go over to Showtime. While HBO focuses on giving fights the fans wanna see. I love how they're starting off the year with Gamboa-Rios too.
