agree with those supporting Terrible here
fought everybody around
almost never in a dull fight
cocky guy who backed it up instead of just talking tough
still going semi strong far past his best now
People who say Morales didn't consider that Pac's resume is better than Morales's and Pac beat him twice and arguably beat him in the first fight.
being the peoples champ is as much what you havent done as what you have done.
morales never ducked anyone, pac has. morales never picked on washed up fighters with big names, seems like thats almost all pacquiaos has been doing as of late. morales never tricked ignorant mainstream fans into buying crap fights at the expense of the sport like pacquiao has against margarito, mosley, clottey etc.
pacquiao is far away from being the peoples champ, closer to the opopsite acctually. ppl laugh at BHop being mentioned but hes far closer imo, in the end it comes down to other fighters than him as well though. JMM, froch and morales are all excellent picks, personally i gotta go with glen johnson though. hes any boxing fans dream come true and a real champion, not titlist but champion.
Morales and JMM. Margacheto had all the makings of one with his heart and style before..well you know,.
Pacman is the Pactards champion, not the peoples.
I'd put Froch in the running too, costant underdog that comes out on top.
How is this even a debate? Carl Froch all day long if we're talking about "People's Champ" in this era.
Just look at the guys recent run Pascal, Taylor, Dirrell, Kessler, Abraham, Johnson, Ward.
Not to mention he would have fought Slapzaghe if the he didn't duck Froch.
No doubt Morales has the overall better resume but right now Froch deserves his props.
People who say Morales didn't consider that Pac's resume is better than Morales's and Pac beat him twice and arguably beat him in the first fight.
Morales was toying with Pac all night long. He even gave Pac a chance to Knock him out but Pac just couldn't do it. I blame the clitoris gloves lol
morales or for me jmm. both of them are awesome warriors, I was f'n pissed last saturday my girlfriend was like what the hell is wrong with you after the decision and o i went in on the bull**** jmm has put up with pacquiao decisions
Funny I'm watching the Maroles/Barrera first fight, and the topic starter's call on Erik Morales made me think... Definitely Morales... I've never doubted or hated on Morales, all he does is fight! No complaints, no surrender, no excuses.
Erik Morales> Carl Froch. Morales only fought that young undefeated kid in his last fight because Lucas Matthysse pulled out and Marcos Maidana declined. Those two are no pushovers.
I DARE somebody to list a more daunting and challenging string o' fights: Pascal, Taylor, Dirrell, Kessler, Abraham, Johnson, Ward, and then either Kessler again or Bute. . .
Morales was an excellent champion in his time. . . He proved he still has something left, but his work rate was atrocious against Maidana, and he lost. . . Before that he fought nobodies. . . He also refused to fight Amir Khan. . . He's picking and choosing fights he can win. . . or has a good chance. . he knew all along he had a better chance to beat maidana than he did other big names at 140. . . he's carefully picking his fights, NOT a sign of people's champ.
He LITERALLY just CHERRY PICKED a belt?! LOL he won it via "vacancy" against a journeyman type boxer. . . WBC "set him up" to win along with golden boy. . How is that people's champ?! LOL x 1000. . .
Morales fought better opposition that every one you mentioned and frankly it's really not even close lol
