So Cotto ONLY beats Margarito because Margs is completely shot?

This is pretty pathetic, as are most in here speaking. Prime vs. Prime Marg made Cotto quit. That's a fact and Marg deserves major props for it. But Cotto also fought like an idiot and was in the fight in to the 11th round.....a few tactical adjustments and who's to say that a Prime Cotto can't beat a Prime Marg. Unfortunately this place is just filled with fanatics and haters of either a fighter or a fan base and it's just really getting tiresome. Agreed, an objective comparison is nearly impossible. As stated above, with a few adjustments a Prime vs Prime, Cotto should come on top.

It does sound like an excuse. im still amazed at the hate cotto gets and for all the so called proud mexican fans margarito is a disgrace to your race. he should be glad he can even box for what he did. lets see if his eye falls out. I agree. Margarito is still dangerous and to dismiss his power and say "Oh, he's nothing without his wraps" is completely stupid. We saw what he did to Pac. Pac beat him in every round but he took his fair amount of punishment as well. It's kind of hard to visualize if people haven't seen that fight, though. Say what you want about the plaster but that chin of margarito is granite. yup he took pac's best shots and mosley had to put his entire body into every shot before he could finally stop margarito and even then margarito wasn't really knocked out cold.

That seems to be the consensus among a lot of people going for Cotto. They either bring up the plaster they blindly suspect he used last time, or that Marg is damaged already. In both cases pretty much saying that is the reason Cotto will win. If Cotto has the same mentality, and they let Margarito fight Cotto will be taking a knee earlier than last time. when cotto feels margs punches and marg hits as hard as he did in the previous fight when he "supposedly" had plaster...... game over mentally for cotto.

some of that is to marg's credit though. it's not all just cotto's mistake. hell look at the pac fight. as fast as pac is , as rusty and past it marg might have been , he was still for brief moments able to force pac on the ropes and hurt him. and pac is much faster and has better stamina than cotto. and still marg got to him at times and pac was worn down a bit. :D fight is coming up , mang. pre-fight **** talking is the best. No yea, I said that Marg deserves some credit for making Cotto fight off the ropes with his pressure, but it still seemed to me like Cotto wasn't properly prepared for that. Call names all you like, that fact casts a shadow of doubt on Margarito's entire career up to that point. Including his victory over MC. No reasonable adult can fail to see the logic in this. Yea he fought smart if it was a 6 round fight. But fighting off the ropes from the 2nd fight on against a volume puncher is stupid. Now I know Margarito gets credit for that as well for the pressure but Cotto obviously did not prepare properly from a tactical standpoint. You should talk like that more often as opposed to sounding like a mindless idiot like the rest of these peasants. cotto didn't fight like an idiot. he won like 4-5 of the 1st 6 rounds. he just couldn't sustain it. doubt this version of cotto would be able to sustain it better. only thing cotto could improve on from the 1st fight is to learn to clinch and go forward more instead of constantly backing up. but even doing that has its own drawbacks. clinching is always more draining on the smaller man for example.
