I think it's PAC's weakness not so much Dinamita's boxing skills that's making his fights w/ Juan more difficult than it has to be.
Think about it guys, boxing is about all the lil things that make a big difference.
PAC's inability to make simple adjustments, such as moving in the wrong direction, therefore getting cracked w/ lead rights in the process, is what's making these more competitive than they have to be.
Dumbquiao for some reason gets stuck on st*pid against counter-punchers. It's boxing 101 that if you're a lefty, you simply don't give up the outside lead foot as easily as Dumbquiao does. By giving up the outside angle so easily it sets up all kinds of punches for the right-handed fighter.
Dinamita wouldn't have such an easy time slippin' that lead right if PAC would simply step to his right.
Of course, there are other things that PAC needs to do, but, that simple adjustment is what makes or breaks everything else.
If y'all noticed last night, the very few moments PAC moved to his right, Juanita by instinct reacted just like PAC had been doing all night, Juanita naturally started moving in the wrong direction as well. But for some odd reason, PAC simply went back to his old sh*t.
I wonder if Dumbquiao moving to his right was intentional or was it just some random movement on his part.
Except for the 'Dumbquiao' monicker, I agree 100% with everything you said. I was drunk and still noticed everything you mentioned. I was yelling at the f*cking screen for Pac to shift to his right. Something so simple, that he's done effectively before (esp. in the DLH and Cotto fights) and for whatever reason he didn't and Freddie never mentioned it between rounds.
I just watched the replay last night. I didn't catch it the first time I watched the fight, but, Roach did mention to Dumbquiao to move to his right in between rounds.
One thing that I didn't catch watching it last Saturday was Ariza saying the same thing, about moving to his right. And Buboy suggested it as well.
So, there's no excuses for Dumbquiao, that's his f**king entire corner telling him to move to his right. Just watch the replay and pay attention, HBO got solid audio on it.
You're missing the point of the thread.
to be honest, give marquez ring generalship credit.
of course if pac had the outside angles it wouldve been alot easier, but his ring I.Q aint what its said to be.
you would think they drilled that sh*t at the gym the past 3 years.

Made absolutely no sense. Maruqez proved in their first 2 fights that he's susceptible to Manny's straight lefts... so why the hell wouldn't the game plan be to turn Marquez, avoid his right and lead with the straight left, both to the body and head, wherever there's an opening? Something so simple that would've made the difference in the fight.
Pac was way too cautious and let Marquez dictate all the action in the ring. Just seems like that fire has gone out and the killer instinct isn't there any more.
I have never ever heard Roach mention to PAC during fights to step over to his right. However, I did hear Buboy advise Dumbquiao, he even made a lil hand gesture to step to his right.
I don't think Dumbquiao was necessarily steppin' to his right against Cotto and De La Joto, rather it was more like he was pivoting to his right whenever they would come forward.
Pivots and Stepping over are not quite the same. Pivots are useless when the opponent is simply backing away. I don't think stepping over would make much sense either when the opponent is backing away.
When an opponent is simply backing away, I think jabs, feints and head movement and keeping the lead foot on the outside are the keys for effective straight ahead attacks.
Now, if the right-handed fighter was constantly trying to turn the corner, then that's when the stepping over comes into play along w/ the rest of the stuff.
Yeah man, Dumbquiao surprised me with his cautiousness. He was more cautious in this fight than the last two meetings he had with Juan. PAC did mention that Juan hurt him several times in the fight, this was a surprise as well, because not once do I recall Dumbquiao ever mentioning being hurt to the point that it made him tentative against Juan.
And yes, Dumbquiao is a perfect monicker for Pac. After 36 rounds and you still commit the same exact mistakes, and the last one was by far his most dissapointing.
Marquez was ripping Pacquiao with shots, I had it like this:
Rd 1 - A feel out round, give to Pacquiao (just because)
Rd 2 - Marquez
Rd 3 - A very close round, Ill give it to Pacquiao with the benefit of the doubt
Rd 4 - Pacquiao
Rd 5 - Marquez dominated
Rd 6 - Marquez
Rd 7 - Marquez dominated again
Rd 8 - Marquez
Rd 9 - Close round but gotta go to Marquez, more cleaner shots
Rd 10 - Marquez
Rd 11 - Marquez
Rd 12 - Close round, could of went either way, give to Pacquiao (just because)
final score Marquez 116 - Pacquiao 112
Thats common sense. I just re watch it. and i have a similar score card lol cheerz

for those of you that are screaming robbery or that jmm won, let’s break it down…
based on total punches landed, paquaio won 9 rounds to jmm ‘s 3 …that’s giving jmm the rounds that are even, rounds 3 and 9
based on jabs landed, pacquaio won 8 rounds to jmm’s 4….again, thats giving jmm the round that’s even, round 8
the most effective punches, the power punches….
Based on power punches landed, pacquaio won 8 rounds to jmm’s 4….no even rounds there…
So please do tell how the hell did pac not win this fight, better yet how the hell can you call this a robbery?….
