Star Wars never goes out of style, it transcends eras and generations.
In the 70's Manny is probably a Joe-mo in Manila and probably uses several alts to troll Ali-tards on a daily basis when he isn't training, Do we have a documented date for the creation and or sighting of the first Pactard? Let me google this, it must be in the National Geographic or Wiki or something..
You speak like an idiot.
Asians and Hispanics were dominating the lower weights in the 70's.
Me as a Korean-American would be cheering for Hong Soo-hwan.
Filipinos on the other hand would cheer for Gabriel “Flash” Elorde.
And for the Hispanics this website will be flooded by Carlos Monzon fans and many more.
Really, if the internet existed back then the spread for being famous would have been equal and not just an American coverage.

"I dig it" would replace co-sign. There would be plenty of Farrah Fawcett and Pam Grier signatures. There would probably be a Yoda alt that "talked" like him, or a Chewbacca alt that would just growl...and now that I mentioned it someone will probably do it
Black Panthers and KKK all over this f***ing place. The Ban Stick would be in over his head.
its part of human nature to romanticize the past, even if people had their own unique sets of issues and problems. they mostly tend to remember the good things and thus paint a rosy picture based on that.
personally, if boxingscene was in the 70's, things WOULD BE EXACTLY THE SAME. (possibly a bit more racist though)
there would be both fans and extreme haters of ali, foreman etc.,
you would have some groups dedicated to downplay ALL accomplishments of either fighters.
whenever a popular fighter uttered an inflaming speech or got involved in a controversy, multiple threads would be made regarding that single incident.
you'd see a lot of phrases like "groovy maaan!" or "can you dig it?" or "far out!".
somehow, star wars would be included in the topic.

Stupid thread. And the funny thing they think the 70's wasn't racist and that the people were intelligent when it came to boxing.

You can argue that Floyd is also a "boxing God" in today's era, but he was hated for the same thing Ali was; personality and attitude. If they had boxingscene back then, you'd hear a bunch of flag waving Americans criticizing Ali to no end about him not joining the military and certain pro-black comments and choices he would make. Actually the hate Ali would have gotten had the internet been around would have been out of this world and would have made Floyd seem like a loved public figure.
Floyd doesn't compare at all to the level of praise Ali was receiving at a similar point in his career.
If boxing scene was around in the 70's, there wouldn't really any need for them. You know why! Cause back then the fights happened.
Good point. Obviously, I have no clue what it would have been like.
He'd be more divisive, but have a far larger fanbase. At similar points in their career, Ali was a boxing god. From what I've seen most the hatred for him was when he was young and not completely proven.

Ali said it himself that he was glad Fraziers corner threw in the towel (he actually wanted to go on) because he (Ali) couldn't make the bell.
No,Frazier didn't want to go on.His whole body language at the end of the fourteenth round is that of a beaten man,of a man that has been beaten into submission. No real protest from Frazier(for a man who apparently felt strong about it) during Futch's call to the referee, this was despite both men feeling that he(Frazier was ahead on the scorecards at the time.)
Ali would be seen as Floyd is now. Pretty much. He's cocky as ****, easy to hate and doesn't go charging head first into fights. He'd be seen like Floyd.

Frazier would come in for alot more criticism for certain matchups if there was a boxingscene around in the 1970's.People would be wondering why Mac Foster isn't a credible enough opponent but why a light heavyweight in Bob Foster is.
When you've been beaten to a pulp and willingly retire on your stool, you don't have an argument for saying a fight "could have gone either way".

F*ck that, Ali only beat Joe after his brains were scrambled by Foreman. 3rd fight could have gone either way, Ali himself said he was unable to answer the final bell, Joe's corner just threw in the towel before he was able to.

Lol besides the real stand out minorities, everyone knows that Ali was better Joe and that's cause he won a 2/3 battle with him and we don't need to draw on hypothetical situations and point the finger as to who's fault it is the fight didn't happen. I can imagine in 30 years from now, if that 2012 bull don't really happen lol, pactards and flomos still going at it! Nowadays supporters of Ali and Joe have mutual respect for one another and know they both were warriors and amazing athletes.

Could anyone see Ali getting suspicious about Joe knocking all of these large heavyweights out and asking more testing for PEDs if they were around today?
