Well, we technically know Berto and Ortiz r somewhat evenly matched... Although the fight ain't impossible to stink up, there's an over 50% chance that the fight will be VERY good and fun to watch
Rios-Gamboa... For all we know, Gamboa is weakling at 135, and Rios will just KO him easy... There's a minimum of 50% chance that this fight would end in the first round... Than u add the no less that 25% chance that the fight goes the distance but is boring as hell... 75% chance that fight will stink!
Lol, jk about those statistics, but u get the point right?
Which fight would you rather see Jan. 28th on HBO?
Both on Double header on WCB. HBO owes it to us. This year alone morales vs maidana and Hopkins vs Dawson SHOULD NVER HAVE BEEN ON PPV!!! I thought back in 2009 HBO had a good thing going where they put Marg vs Mosley on WCB and the first PPV fight was hatton vs pac in may. **** Hbo and their ppvs. They owe us both fights for FREE on the same night.
I would go with Ortiz-Berto, Because of their history/first fight and the fact that both are at 147 with something to prove, I dont mind Gamboa-Rios but would have liked to see Gamboa fight even once at 135 to make me want it even more.
Because, it would have 3 different promoters. And, I'm pretty sure one of the promoters would want the main event so they can get the main event money.
It it was just 2 promoters then yea why not...But, 3? Will make it very difficult.
Awwwww.....ok...if I gotta' pick, I'll go with Gamboa/Rios because it's likely to be a helluva crazy fight and it's time for Gamboa to become a big name. Or not.
This fight is a step in that direction, imo and as such is important to the sport in general.
Chances are Ortiz/Berto 2 will be a highly entertaining repeat of Ortiz/Berto 1, which I thought was a great fight. But what will it really mean?
Gamboa hasn't even made his 130lb debut. He could still pull it off, but he's at a HUGE disadvantage. I mean he did struggle against Salido. I'd rather see Ortiz and Berto go at it again.

ok...I guess its the Gamboa-Rios scrap then
^^^
Why not both? :boxing:

rios-gamboa by far.....
Stop. This fight is ridiculous. Gamboa is a Small 126, Rios is a HUGE 135, who will probably end up at 140 sooner rather than later.
Damn Angulos face is fucked up in your avi!
Back to the topic at hand I would like to see of course Rios-Gamboa, but that isn't happening since Rios is fighting 6 weeks before. Ortiz-Berto II is not bad either.

In terms of who better, IMO it goes...
Rios>Ortiz
Gamboa>Berto
So therefor Rios-Gamboa. But, both events can happen in January(which it won't). It would make January a strong boxing month. And, kickoff the year with excitement.
