I have lost all faith that Manny vs. Floyd will happen on May 5th. And even as a fan of Floyd's boxing skills, I think a potential match with Morales is a joke and should never happen. And for the love of the sport, I hope it doesnt happen.
So who do you think Floyd Mayweather should fight next?
Fans have spoken. Martinez should be Floyd's next opponent if he is too uncomfortable fighting Pac. Sergio will take the test and would be happy to be offered $5 million guarantee.
;-)
Martinez for me even though I would rather it be Pac. Honestly Pac had me suspicious with the drug refusal but honestly now that I think about it I don't think it has anything to do with any of that, I honestly believe it's all Arums fault. Floyd and Arum just don't get along and neither guy wants to put money in the other guy pocket. If you noticed ever guy who has fought Pac lately has been top rank. No hate but everyone since Hoya. Even Mosley and Juan left promotional companies to get the fight, it's all about money.
Martinez.
It's too early for Mayweather-Khan. Mayweather-Khan should happen after Amir has moved up to 147 and collected a belt against a good fighter.Well said Wazaa.
Martinez at 154 is the only fight I want to see, if Floyd/Pac doesn't happen May 5.
Pacquiao or Martinez. Khan would not give Floyd ANY trouble. His only impressive win is against Maidana.
Khan can box and has good speed. He could give Floyd problems but with a suspect chin and Floyd's skills, I don't see Khan winning anytime soon.
Khan's best bet is to get Floyd when he is old and Floyd is the only fighter where anyone would get full credit for beating him when he is old and past it. Nobody would care how old he is, just as long as he loses. Floyd's standards are set very high by his paying costumers/haters.
Khan needs to fight Bradley and the winner of Ortiz and Berto II. Then talk about Floyd in late 2012 or 2013 if he comes out victorious.
Remember, Khan gets or used to get top notch sparring with Pac. In a few years if his chin stays intact, he could be a big name fighter with a few belts. Of course Mayweather and Pac would be retired at that point.
Sadly, I don't think Floyd would get any credit for beating any of these guys. The young guys would be accused of being too green i.e. Victor Ortiz and the more experienced guys would be accused of being too old. So Mayweather doesn't win no matter what.
Either Khan or Martinez. Can't see anyone else giving Mayweather trouble.

Cinco de mayo isnt a mexican holiday so what does that have to do with anything?
Thank you captain obvious. Canelo vs. Mayweather would sell out Estadio Azteca regardless of what date it is. Notice I said Canelo/Floyd would do huge PPV #'s. That means here in the states. And here in the states 5 de Mayo is a great Mexican American holiday. The majority of Mexican American families are having carne asadas with the familia all weekend long. And if you put Canelo/Mayweather on PPV that weekend guess what . . . the majority of them are going to order it.
Or sell out Estadio Azteca with over 100K fans. On 5 De Mayo that would be the biggest PPV draw, no doubt.

Martinez at 154, or Floyd could weigh in at 155 for the Middleweight title. Berto will get smacked around, he's only worth something because he has a title that he doesn't even deserve. He was lucky that fight with Zaveck was stopped, cuz he was starting to fade. He should just fight Ortiz again. Khan and Canelo atm would be money-fights, not legacy fights. Cotto would've been a legacy fight a couple years ago, but I guess it would still be worth something if Cotto gets past Margarito in convincing fashion. However, Floyd prides himself on saying he doesn't fight Manny's leftovers so it most likely won't happen.
1. Martinez/Cotto/Canelo 154 (155 in Martinez's case)
3. Pac/Khan 147
Floyd shouldn't be fighting anyone else in his last years as a boxer.
#1. Sergio Martinez - Clearly the toughest fight for floyd
#2. Amir Khan - Will be competitive as long as Amir Khan's chin holds up
#3. Cotto Margarito winner - Floyd vs Cotto would be interesting at 154
#4. Andre Berto - I wouldnt be excited for it but if he announced it? meh
#5. Marcos Maidana - Too small for floyd. But would make it entertaining
#6. Saul Alvarez - Too easy for floyd. Would be a joke of a fight
#7. Juan Manuel Marquez (if he beats pacquiao) - No way Marquez beats pacquiao and no way would I ever tune in on a remtach of Marquez and Mayweather. Not even if it was free
Id rather see floyd fight kirkland or angulo than marquez or alvarez
