I just saw a video of an interview of Marquez's trainer and he said they didn't do any long distance running. Still did the running but not long distance.
Damn, what do you guys think about that. To me that changes the formula of past Mexican greats that have always done long distance running. Will the change affect his staying power or ability to recoup/ or conditioning in a fast paced fight?
Lots of variables in the Marquez camp... I don't know if I like it what do you guys think.
True.
Though you can't do high intensity intervals more than 2 or 3 times a week because your body wouldn't hold up. I doubt they ditched long distance running completely, they are just combining hit runs with long distance runs.
Marquez's trainer knows his stuff so don't worry about his conditioning.
In their defense, 3-4 mile runs inst exactly long distance running. I think Manny does 8 mile runs, but he does mainly hills which is much more like plyometrics than your regular flat-land jogging.

Thats what I was thinking. Defiantly curious to see how he looks and if he can actually go all the rounds

yep. since when was a boxing match like a half marathon? especially against someone like pacquiao? (mosley excluded).
LSD (long slow running!) is also highly catabolic so excluding doing it could help someone wanting to put on weight, like marquez.

Only 2? Pacquiao had way more for the first fight. Blisters, wrong socks, and water wasn't cold enough. Excuses excuses indeed.
well now JMM has an excuse when he loses... wrong trainer, stamina issues. war.
Pac-JMM IV anyone?
I don't think so. Some would argue that not even this third one should be happening.
