I dont feel good about Paq or Floyd or anyone else fighting Martinez at 147 because that is too far for Martinez to safely drop. However, if Martinez is calling out a WW, dont be surprised if they want Martinez to fight at WW.......
Why is this thread still going?
Pacquiao already beat Martinez's daddy aka Margarito.
Also quit ducking and dodging Pirog who just offered you triple your highest payday when you couldn't even sell out a tiny arena where tickets were free if you bought a large coke.
Cause Yuri Foreman was undefeated and had yet to look bad in a fight. Has no power, but showed he can box and move around, a style Pacquiao is not comfortable with. I bet he was kicking himself after he saw Cotto and now Wolak beat him. He coulda taken his 0 if he had the balls.
Lol and he said Foreman is "too tall". Then he went on to fight Margarito who's almost 6 feet.
It's good to see that I'm not the only one paying attention. Margarito is taller than Foreman. Foreman is 5 10 and 1/2, Marg is 5 11. It's just like you said homie. Foreman's style does not cater to what Pacquiao likes to deal with. They didn't want to fight an undefeated champion for a legit title because he had fast hands and fast wheels. One who didn't have knockout power. Yet they want me to believe that they are chasing Floyd Mayweather? Not in your life. Whatever's said, is just that, what's said. I judge by actions and they wanted no part of Yuri Foreman. They closest they got to fighting him was watching the fight from the stands. Coward.
Perfectly fine. Martinez wants to call out WWs? Then that's what he gets, he wants to fight WWs then fight them at their weight. He also said he can make WW easy so come on let's get it on. Pacquiao will expose that fraud.
So I guess it's perfectly fine that Pac went to challenge for a welterweight title, at 145. He wanted to fight a bigger man for a title, so the bigger man should've been allowed to weigh 147. It's a major double standard and you're one of the guys that make excuses for these kinds of plays. Pac just basically told him 'I'm not going to fight you unless you make the weight I want you to make. That's kind of like the same thing people accuse Floyd of doing with the random tests. Asking a middleweight to come down 2 divisions is pathetic. Martinez only asked to fight Manny Pacquiao at a weight that he already fought at. It's not like he's asking Manny to do something that he hasn't already done. It's an excuse and Manny's scared. Martinez isn't too big, he's too good.
I dont think he would.
Pac was offered someone similar...Yuri Foreman and Pac didnt jump on fighting him either.
He is interested in fighting people below 150 pounds being a small welterweight himself.

I bet you Pacquiao would jump all over the offer to fight Julio Cesar Chavez Jr at 150.
It's a style thing. Not weight or size. And JCCJr is big, he's tall at 6 feet..but he sucks and his style is tailor made for Pacquiao. Pac would fight that dude even at 155 and just come in light. He would have a field day with Junior at any weight class. Jr has no power, doesn't move, slow handspeed, no defense. Terrible fighter, perfect for Pacquiao.
Now tell me no...say no, go ahead. Tell me Pacquiao would no jump at the chance of fighting Jr in the 150's. He'd even fight Peter Manfredo Jr if he beats JC. Peter is so whack though, Pac would let him come in at 160.
Stop talking about size.

weh? Whatever, Martinez is big and you can't deny that.

He is about the same size as Margarito. Martinez can make 154 easy, and maybe even lower.
Martinez has Team Pacquiao shook, just like Mosley had em shook back in 2009.
I've never recalled a P4P fighter calling out another fighter 2 divisions below them. And the smaller guy getting called "scared" if he doesnt want the fight.
that is so lame...and this is getting old. Pac is not afraid of other boxers in the ring as long as they are the same size as he is or smaller.
It's also not a good fight for Martinez. If he beats Pac at a catchweight no serious people will give him the credit for doing so.
So it's a lose/lose proposition for both guys.
Sergio should move up to 168 and fight the likes of Bute. And if he doesnt, personally i would also understand since he might be too small.

People defending Pacquiao because Martinez is too big are only kidding themselves. Pacquiao has avoided "That style" all his career. It's not a weight thing, it's a stylistic mismatch. And I have no problem with that anymore. Pacquiao is a great "fighter" against other great "fighters". But a good-average boxer who moves around and actually boxes, makes him look ordinary.
Nothing at all. Like I said yesterday, people need to take Pacquiao for what he is. I won't repeat what he is but all i'm gonna repeat is, that when people start accepting Pacquiao for the style he likes to fight, it'll be easier to appreciate him as a fighter. People who want him/wanted him to fight Raheem, Guzman, Mayweather, Martinez, etc, know that those styles can beat him. They just wanna see him lose. I use to be one of these people just before the Martinez at 147 thread. But now him saying he'd fight Martinez at 147, and the whole avoiding Raheem after he beat Morales, and avoiding any decent fighter at 135 in 2008 over David Diaz. Avoiding Mayweather's lone stipulation to fight in 2010, picking Cotto over Mosley in 2009, fighting Clottey off a loss in 2010, fighting yet another stationary/come forward fighter Margarito at a catchweight, not wanting Mosley when he came off Mayorga/Margarito TKO's, but wanting him after a Mayweather loss/Mora Draw, and now fighting Marquez 3 years too late. Just take the dude for what he is and stop trying to get him bullied. He's a media created/Bob Arum hype. He's a top 25 ATG with media hype and great matchmaking, great matchmaking by always putting him against a style he's superior to and avoiding putting him in with styles which he is inferior to.
"We can negotiate a weight"
did any of you guys miss that part? I guess that leaves the door open for 150, but still the caveat of criticism will always be there
It doesnt matter because i am against the fight at 147 or 150. The fight isnt realistic.
No one expects Martinez to move up 8 pounds and fight at super middleweight here, and i dont expect Pac to beat someone who is a full fledged middleweight or drain him out at a catchweight
Pac's fought Margo at 150. He can't and won't fight at 154. If he accepts a fight with Sergio at 150 it would be another cw and he will never hear the end of it. Therefore, 147 is it. No cw.
I thought Floyd and Manny were supposed to be the same size?? What gives, Pacquiao?
Floyd must view Manny as more dangerous than a middleweight if he prefers to fight Sergio over an asian midget.
considering pac weighed in at 144 for margarito fight i guess this statement is reasonable if he felt margarito was just too big for him once he got in the ring with him. however, if ANYONE said this is a reasonable statement and turns around and bashes floyd for fighting serg under 154, you don't deserve to have posting privileges
I have no interest in seeing May or Pac fighting Martinez any lower then jmw. Both fighter have earned(or been given) titles at 154, i see no reason why the can't take a stab at it again.
To be honest though, if either one was able to beat Martinez at or near mw, it would be legendary.
