In reference to Emmanuel's broadcast of the fight and in regard to his comments about how and why I was moved into the position of head trainer....his comments were off base and innaccurate...the truth is...let's say more in favor of myself than was let on...normally I would let it go but so many people watch HBO and everything said reflects someone or something in a good, bad or even way...may as well have accurate info, right? That's all Im saying...
Yeah Emmanuel seems like a likeable guy in-front of the camera, but you hear things in interviews from boxing people - e.g. Jack Loew complaining that Manny never gave him his props when Pavlik knocked out Taylor, not even so much as a handshake. That wasn't very classy at all - kinda sounds like Manny was ashamed to have lost to an 'unknown' trainer like Loew, and he didn't want to have to suck it up.
I remember that, he was definitely throwing a tantrum after Taylor was KO'd. He also seemed to leave Cintron in the dust after Margarito plastered him the second time.

Sometimes Emmanuel Steward will say something that is literally complete nonsense and has no clue what he's talking about.
I.e Pretty much everything to do with Darren Barker in his fight with Martinez.
I imagine this was on of those moments which are becoming more and more frequent.
Lets call it like it is, Steward is an insecure egomaniac. That's why he is always so quick to say that he knew whatever happened was going to. It's embarrassing to listen to sometimes.
True it is annoying but egomania seems to more often then not come with the territory ya know...

Yeah I heard Chad quoted before the fight to that effect also. Maybe Emmanuel was told something different though?

Emanuel "that's how I expected it to go" Steward. I can't really comment on what he said because I attended the fight, but missed the replay lastnight..but
Let's face it, Chad probably did need to change trainers or have a new voice around at the very least.
Despite how the fight turned out, I haven't seen Dawson that fired up in YEARS, maybe ever. lol.
he made it seem as though I only trained Chad because he couldnt...and, BELIEVE ME, that is not accurate...I was moved into the head trainer position and geography had nothing to do with it...camp was set up in Pa. so a trainer could have been flown in from anywhere in the world...I dont want to hurt anyone or embarrass anyone but I also cant just stand by and let it be painted like I got in by some kind of default...Emmanuel painted a VERY innaccurate picture. believe that...
Good to know, didn't think it was as simple or one-sided as he made it seem, it was nothing short of impying he had no choice but to work with you. Dawson looked like he was more then ready for B-Hop, & I honestly thought he was going to take it had the fight continued.
Sadly for me that fight ulitimately seems like such a waste of time; As far as i can tell Dawson has a KO win over Hopkins but no belt to show for it & B-Hop has a KO loss to Dawson yet still is the champ. Hope the rematch gets made.
No Shawn, they trained in Europe...one of the recent fights they trained near Switzerland...I know guys who go spar with them...one of the guys in my gym actually sparred with him two fights ago and went over there, I forget the name of the country but it definitely wasnt Detroit...
They train in Austria.
nah, he was asked to come to camp as the assistant to me...I actually told them that if Manny has a real problem with it then I will step aside and be the assistant as long as I have input and am the one to do pads with him in the gym...
ahhhh see the way it was portrayed made it seem like Chad couldn't keep a trainer and kept switching back and forth. This makes me see it in a new light.

when he said that he dont want to train dawson where dawson lives is funny. then why does he go all the way across the world to the klits to train them in their country then? The Klits make mega bucks in Germany. They are bigger over there than Mayweather/Pacquiao are in the U.S. Then compare the euro to dollar, you better believe Emanuel will fly over there in a heartbeat.
