What exercises does it involved, how many reps? Sounds good stuff but I doubt it has the same intensity, or at least I imagine it doesn;t start off with a run at 6 am.
Well, you basically do a completely different workout each day. Each workout (or "WoD") is designed to attack a different set of muscles/weaknesses than the last. Some of the more popular workouts are named after hurricanes.
One workout, named "Fran":
21 Thrusters at 95lbs.
21 Pull-ups
15 Thrusters at 95lbs.
15 Pull-ups
9 Thrusters at 95lbs.
9 Pull-ups
for time (quickly as possible)
Some workouts are like this:
"Filthy Fifty"
50 Box jump, 24 inch box
50 Jumping pull-ups
50 Kettlebell swings (35lbs.)
50 Walking Lunges
50 Knees to elbows
50 Push press (45lbs.)
50 Back extensions
50 Wall balls (20lbs.)
50 Burpees
50 Double unders (jump rope)
But there is a definite possibility that you will be running at 6am, haha. It's great though.
muscle on your neck doesn't do anything. agility in your neck is what you need to prevent kayos.
Not strong neck muscles. Strong neck muscles helps when you clinch and an opponent (ex: mayweather) grabs your neck and holds you down by the back of your neck. Won't fatigue your neck with strong neck muscles.
Anyways. Who expects Khan to lose this fight anyways? He doesn't even have to train and he'd still win.
Nah I'm cool man I wanna be able to walk in the mornings :lol1:
Ha, you get used to it. I've basically done cross fit 5-7 days a week for over a year. It's probably the ideal workout for a boxer, or any other athlete, really...
Khan's a beast! One of my favourite fighters. He's looking good.
Have any of you guys seen a Crossfit workout? What Khan is doing is basically a typical Crossfit "WoD" (workout of the day). Thousands of people do this type of workout on a daily basis.
Google it if you'd like to know more about it - you guys might actually like to try it...
That looks like a ton of fun. I'm dead serious. There is no better feeling then knowing you are working hard and making progress, that's fun to me at least.
Well regardless of what people say about Khan or Ariza; the work they've done has been tremendous.
Even though Khan's chin is still suspect, he's now able to hold a shot better because the muscle he's put on his legs and neck.
But quick question; what was hitting the baseball bat against the punch bag doing?
Im guessing it is working on explosive power in the shoulders and back. I play a lot of cricket and a bat swing does help with this.

It's something Ariza has mentioned he gets fighters to do I think for adding power to the swing of your trunk which he I think he believes helps the twisting motion of throwing hooks and stuff.
Can't remember the exact reasoning but I remember him saying something like that.
