Toney is crazy, but right on this one. As soon as the old Gangsta saw He wasn't going to win this one, He found a way out.
Was He expecting Dawson to carry him while He laid all his weight on him??
Time to hang the gloves for the puzzy old man.
toney is the mannnnnnn. james toney vs sam peter 1, amazzzzing fight ,just rewatched that a few days ago...
anyways, i agree with him bhop found a way out, and took it... for some reason, either he felt like he was going to lose the fight, or felt gassed or some reason...
either way, he quit, expecting to get a no decision ,he got a loss, karma.
fighters need to come better mentally prepared for big fights like this, hopkins usually , especially lately, has done so.. so this is a shame
I can't believe Toney said everything that I was thinking about as well.
From Hopkins creating the whole thing after he saw he couldn't really land on Dawson, to Hopkins landing on his ass and then rolled over to his shoulder. Toney said all of my thoughts and opinions about this fight. That's crazy.
Note......James Toney was also soundly beaten (in real terms) by Bernard Hopkins's then sparring partner Dave Tiberi (hardly world class)....Don't even mention Danny Batchelder (or the steroids)!
James Toney and Bernard Hopkins were supposed to fight at 190lbs after Toney defeated Jirov. Hopkins backed out claiming Don King was trying to scam him outta money.
Toney will always be a greater fighter than Hopkins skill wise in my eyes.
"Hopkins backed out claiming Don King was trying to scam him outta money".........Probably explains the fact that Hopkins brought a successful lawsuit against Don King for exactly the same reasons....

Bernard Hopkins and Don King had litigation pending against each other, and those lawsuits have just been resolved by an arbitrator. The below statement is by Hopkins’ legal counsel.
I agree with Toney, Bernard is a b!tch, than the hyprocrite Bernard has the nerve to say this is bad for boxing. Of course it's bad for boxing because he created it.
