Bhop being bhop. Dictating pace and frustrating chad. I didnt see a huge speed difference like i thought i might, but i saw a ring iq difference. Bhop's feet were always in a superior position when punching.
Pace?? That was all Dawson! He said he would be aggressive because he knew B-Hop couldn't touch him.He wasn't going to let B-Hop bully him,not when that's the only way he could win and so he over-reacted when Hopkins JUMPED on his back. That wasn't out of frustration.Bottom line Chad won, would've won and will win again if threres a rematch. Dawson was turned up and ready to go. Hopkins knew it,look how long he took getting to thecenter of the ring for the ref's instructions.
Hopkins fought exactly how I thought he was going to, extremely negatively. Clinching, headbutts, not trying to press any action. Dawson was doing a decent job of throwing all the activity without leaving himself open.
I had it 1-0 Dawson, with an extremely inactive 2nd round from Hopkins about to put Dawson up 2-0.
Chad looked like he was actually coming to win. A shame I think we missed out on a good fight.
I was enjoying the hell out of this fight. Chad shouldnt be in there trying to figure out bernard, he needed to get out there and put it on bhop.
I saw a young fighter hunting and stalking a hesitant and scared grandpa. I thought I was in for a long fight so I grabbed my pillow when all the sudden thankfully Dawson caught Bernard with a good throw and TKO'd him.
You must have this confused with another martial art, in BOXING we don't throw people and win that way. Now if this were Judo or wrestling etc. okay, but this is boxing just so you know and the commission will overturn the horrendous non call by the ref.
Is it only me I see hopkins weak and not the same as before, maybe the age catching up? plus with the injury i dont see him coming back...
When did he look weak? After he blew up his shoulder.
And he's 46, he's not going to be "the same as before", whatever that means.
See, when you get older, your reflexes slow down a little but. Yu dont keep the same athleticism your entire life. I thought this was pretty elementary stuff.

Dawson was definitely allowing Hopkins to fight his fight...and to me Dawson would have to win and control the early rounds to win because if Hopkins is allowed to conserve his energy in the early rounds and not fall behind for doing so...he will always finish strong in the 2end half of the fight and win.
bhop was fighting in spurts but dawson was getting closer and closer.
neither guy was really effective,
Who does this benefit?
I liked lampley's point (probably only the second time i've ever typed that) that judges would favor bhop in the start of this fight because he's viewed correctly as a defensive wizard. He had chad's offense shut down in those couple of rounds. Obviously, it was less than 1/6 of the fight, but there's no doubt that the fight was being controlled by bhop.
And he showed that he could Crowd him without fear of anything coming back.
Agreed. Im not gonna go as far as saying he was muscling chad uP, but bhop was doing the manuvering and leaning on chad. He alluded to it in his comments but everyone was so focused on the controversy. He said something to the effect of he was faster than chad thought and that he was bigger than chad (body size).
Not a good start for chad, i thought bhop had him off his game. They expected to go oit there and control pace, and its not happening vs bhop. Chad doesnt have the ring smarts or identity of himself to fuk with bhop. Chad's all over the place with his style and trainers. Now he wants to go back to scully to try and get back his old self.

yeah, bhops always tried putting his foot on the outside. besides that not much, it was only 2 rounds. i can't really say how the fight could've went.
