He just stood there and took it.
The first punch, the left...OK, maybe he didn't see that coming but the right that followed it? He made no effort to avoid it, or get his gloves up, or move his head. Nothing.
Why?

this is true!
cortez not looking is part of the script in that circus..
notice in the reply that floyd glanced at cortez before he threw the cheap shots. victor just let the punches land and even though it's not that hard, he got k-oed...:no:
Too busy b!tching to the ref to pay attention to what was going on in front of him is what it looked like to me.
This is absolutely what happened.
But again... just cause you CAN do something doesn't mean you should. Mayweather could've said no to the hug in some way but instead he faked like he was going to return it and THEN he punched Ortiz. The guy beats on women though so I don't think he's overly concerned about honor. Ortiz should have known this and should never have bothered to even try to appologise.
Bottom line. It was a dishonorable jerk taking advantage of a frusterated idiot.
Its plain and simple he was getting fustrated and wanted no part of the fight the ref talked to him and said fight and he did not want to fight!! Reality start to kick in when he could not deal with Floyd period.
he was taking a beating,missing,
Wow!~ I mean I really didnt think people could be this ****ing stupid.... the myth that he was missing has already been exposed, you just choose to live in denial.
and the myth that he was taking a beating, well thats your story, and you know the only people who actually beleive that **** is the Flomosapiens...
its like when you are beating someones ass on the streets..and they all the sudden say"hold up man, hold up..im str8" and wanna talk..but you like fukk dat im fighting.same thing
He just stood there and took it.

He looked at the ref to do something about what he thought was an infraction.
OR
It was staged.
So, for all the Protect Yourself At All Times crowd, was Abner in the right for fighting the way he fought Agbeko? Ref didnt do anything about his fouls so that makes them fair punches.
Or is it only fair when the guy you want to win is doing the fouling?
He just stood there and took it.

Just prior I mean one split second before that first shot he heard Cortez say Bell, So I assume he was expecting Joe to do his ****ing job. when a fighter hears a ref say bell usally they assume the bell had rung.
cause he was waiting for cortez to penalize or disqualify floyd for hitting before the action was resumed
action had already resumed tho....Cortz said"lets go" and motioned them in......Ortiz is just a dumbass
man didnt want to fight anymore..he was taking a beating, missing, getting frustrated and just like most predicted.......he quit..he couldve gotten up..but didnt want to..the man is mentally retarded, anyone can listen to him talk and tell he's fake as hell and a moron..he got his money and he's happy

I don't agree that it was staged, but whatever think what you want at least it is better than those feeling sorry for Ortiz.
I think it was just a terrible fail, from a guy who is not a real fighter.
It really seems like he just let that happen.
Even if was lookin at the ref, he'd still see it coming and know what was happening right in front of him so I don't but that. He deliberately chose to not react. That is very unusual, and its actually suspicious, IMO.
That is my whole question on that, all he did was look at the ref he could have done a bunch of stuff that might have allowed him to survive but he did nothing of the sort.
That is why I have zero sympathy for him.
