Hearns did break his right hand in the first round. I think Hagler would have got to him eventually but it's a damn shame that happened so early.
I don't think so. Hearns did try to get some range midway thru the first, and tried to box on the backfoot after round 1.
Hagler kept getting to him. Hagler had the perfect game plan, perhaps the greatest "out of character" performance by a fighter ever.
