I wish people would stop saying ''styles make fight'' to explain Marquez performance against Pacquiao. It is a case of the fighter being his equal ( or superior depending on how you look at it). Fighters like Cotto, Margarito and Clottey aren't in his class so he sweeps them to the side.
At the end of the day Marquez didn't stick to counter boxing, there were times where he brought the fight to Pacquiao. Times where he went on the defensive, times where he traded etc.
God damn I am livid about that shot decision. Mayweather by death blow
lolz that's the worst mistake floyd could do, imho he has the advantages over PAC he miust as well use all of it and make it look like all his previous fight,
but going for the KO will be floyds biggest mistake as he will give pac a chance to change the outcome of the fight...
I've said it before (and you can check my post history), Pacquiao's style plays into Marquez's counterpunching. Marquez is an AGGRESSIVE counter-puncher.
Even if Marquez beats Pacquiao, he can't beat Mayweather. Mayweather's a DEFENSIVE counterpuncher. He zips in and out and potshots without playing to Marquez's strength.
Another example of styles/fights...I also thought (before the Mayweather/Ortiz fight) that if Ortiz were to upset Mayweather, he'd get demolished by Pacquiao because Pacquiao's offense would overwhelm Ortiz. I always thought if you had to put Mayweather/Pacquiao side by side, that Ortiz had a better chance at beating Mayweather than Pacquiao.
But that's just me.
I personally believe that Marquez has an underrated chance of pulling off an upset.
What I could see happening in the future (if Pacquiao has trouble BEATING Marquez but does) is that they'll say, "Oh, Pacquiao's not the same. He's lost a little of that speed and whatnot."
The excuse might be lined up if he then loses in a future fight with Floyd. And the hating will continue...
What did I say?
Dammit, Márquez wasn't even knocked down and they STILL wouldn't give it to him.
Jesus...I'll have to watch the fight again, but man was I pissed. :nonono:

True statement..
Will you pacfans, not tards, still think he still beats Floyd?
Please honest opinions and ease up on the trolling. Thanks.

I hope Marquez does give Pac a challenge. If the fight is close again and Pac wins, I'd def give Mayweather the upper hand. I'd still say Manny has a punchers chance though.
BUT if Pac beats Marquez by a vast majority, I'd put a Mayweather-Pac fight at 50-50, which I think will happen.
JMM will always give Pac trouble regardless of the weight due to their styles
so i won't be surprised at all if JMM could make Pac again run for his money
but for how long?
Don´t be naive guys, they didn´t give Jmm 5 million dollars to get into their backyard and kill their cash cow. He´ll be there just to "contribute" to the show :bottle:
point well taken...
the pac vs jmm should really not have anything to do with floyd...
it all has got to do with manny....
whether he is now on the downside of his time as a boxer and should go out while he is still on top of the ranking or still fight (big money always beckons) floyd or sergio if floyd still continues to shy away from a pac fight...
maybe it's just me, i really wanna see manny-floyd fight, perhaps, floyd is not really confident to beat manny that's why he is still making these road blocks. that's why i mentioned that the fight might not happen if manny will perform better than he did against jmm. i just could'nt imagine why the most awaited biggest money fight is not happening. just imagine if this fight will be concluded by a trilogy..that's a lot of money!!! and good for boxing....
there's a possibility that marquez could do it again, he knows the blue print to hit manny. but i doubt it this time, manny has improved a lot with his skills since their last outing. i am hoping that this fight would be close because if manny will ko jmm in the early rounds, pac-floyd fight might never happen.

Just my opinion but I think JMM gives Pac problems no matter what but I wouldn't be surprised if Pac gets him outta there fairly quick this time around due to the weight and age factors...between 4-7rd.
If Pac fans said JMM was fat when Floyd beat him then the same has to be said for Pac...Floyd shuts JMM out 9 out of 10 times because of skill, not strength...I predict Pac wins this time clearly because he's accustomed to the heavier weight.
Marquez Best fighting weight is at 135lbs.,
Marquez looks bloated and sluggish when he fought at Welterweight Div against overweight Floydie!
and even Marquez admitted that Pacman has greatly improved since they last fought.
So the verdict, when the two fights toe to toe, it won't be close a close fight because one of them will get shot and hit the canvas!
In their last last 2 fights, Marquez never floored Pacman!
Pacman floored Marquez 4 times!
It won't be a close fight, its Pacman by KO!
and if pac destroys him will floydfans, not flomos still think floyd beats him?
What happens in this fight likely would not change my hypothesis one way or the other.
If JMM troubles him, well boxers still give Manny problems I am sure Floyd would too.
If Manny destroys JMM, well Floyd is a lot different fighter than JMM in terms of style and his physicality.
The second one does make the fight more appealing though because there are a lot of questions that need to get answered.
