Former UFC light heavyweight champion, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has revealed he’s prepared to walk away from his career as a mixed martial artist to forge a new career inside the boxing ring as he’s desperate for the kind of fight that will get his juices flowing.
Speaking via ESPN’s Podcast, Jackson said:
“I hate fighting people who are scared. When you fight somebody who is scared you never know what they’re going to do. They turn and run. That’s why I’m gonna go to boxing. I’m gonna try boxing because they’ve got to stand with you. If I get knocked out I don’t care because at least it’s a fight.
“I’ve tried a lot of boxing, I’m falling in love with boxing and I know I can put butts on seats over there.”

Kimbo vs rampage... This time on even terms!!!!!!
I love Rampage, he's my boy! I would love to see him in the boxing ring in some freakshow events. As long as he stays away from PPV (unless on the undercard) I'll be happy
in other word u wanna quit mma and start boxing because u're to one dimensional! there is no rule in mma/ufc that your opponent have to stand up and trade with u. its called mma for a reason!! if your opponent is a master of the ground game best believe he's taking u to the ground. its no different compare to boxing. why would your opponent wanna stand up and trade with u when his best skills is on the ground? i like ramage but he depends to much on his strikings. this dude is actually really good at muay thai but he never uses his kicks. he's to predictable thats why he wants to go to boxing now. in mma u have guys mixing it up all the time, strikes, kicks, take downs, and with rampage all u have to worry about is his strikings, u dont have to worry about any kicks or getting taken down.
Lmfao WOOOOW!!! You're a known Floyd hater bro, u just contradicted yourself...what u just said explains Floyd...why trade with guys when he knows that his opponent (insert any name) can't out box him???? Please don't back pedal on this...it makes perfect sense to exploit your opponents weakness...u just said it...so why is actual boxing in a sport called boxing bad when Floyd does it?
Good for boxing cause it brings rampage fans to the sport.
As long as it provides for entertaining fights go for it. MAybe he should box Kimbo Slice lol.
I like that he states that there is nowhere to hide in boxing. Say what you want about the "runners" in boxing, but they NEVER completely turn their back and get into a full-on trot like Jon Jones, Lensar, and Overeem have done in their careers. If Jones would have run the way he did in a boxing match, he would have looked ridiculous and been booed loudly (btw I'm not saying being defensive isn't smart).
Not saying they aren't good fighters, just simply stating that there is a huge misconception about how fights occur in MMA and boxing and I'm glad Rampage and a few others bring this up. You HAVE to go toe-to-toe in boxing, there is no where else to go.
I wouldn't count Rampage out, he has no pro boxing experience but he is still a pro fighter and has been for a long time. He knows how to get himself into shape and handle the pressure of events. I know he has some K1 fights and wins under his belt, which he won with no experience in pro kickboxing (I think).
If he comes to boxing, I guess I'll have the opportunity to see one of his fights. Never seen any of his MMA matches and could care less. Major props to him if he's serious.
He has no jab. So what is he really going to do?
Boxing isn't mma where you can wing three punches, land one and get a instant knockout.
Specially at what? Cruiserweight? He's way too small. He won't go far with it.
I've seen Rampage fight and all he wants is stand there and trade punches with his opponent. The guy just loves to box and not interested in kicking and taking them down.
hard to look good boxing when you're worried about some guy jumping at your legs and laying on top of you.
how did James Toney's boxing look in the UFC?

This is true, the defensive mindset is completely different between MMA fighters and boxers
Hopefully more boxers try mma and more mma fighters try boxing, it's entertainment after all and with a novice in one going up against seasoned pro's we are almost guaranteed spectacular KO's.
happy days!
Well I don't think is anything to be excited about. I do like Rampage, but he will be fed bums to look good. I am not a fan of MMA, I like stand up guys Like Liddel ect. All the humping, nuts in the face stuff sucks.
