I could be fighting either one of them, but I hope Margarito wins. I will say it again: I hope Margarito wins, because I know he wouldn't have any problem fighting me, which is something Cotto won't do. Cotto doesn't want to face me. He will make excuses about the money, or about this or that day not being good for him, or about not liking the color of my socks -- anything -- I don't know. Lately he has been saying that the money is too short. I have to tell Cotto that if all he cares about is money, then I promise to hand over my purse to him if he wins, no problem. I can sign on that, anytime and anyplace. But I know Cotto is afraid of fighting me, no matter what he says. It's all excuses. If he is the champion he used to be, or the champ he believes he is, he wouldn't have any problem facing me. But obviously now any excuse is good for him.

Name them 1........2...........3..........GO!!!
haha come on man. He fought guys like Judah, Mosley, Pacquiao, Margarito. Now he is cherrypicking opponents that can't beat him like Foreman, Mayorga and Margarito without plaster but he fought against the best some time ago.
I'm hoping for this too. Cotto did fight a lot of great fighters in the past but he is openly ducking Sergio and don't want anything with him. Margarito, on the other hand, i think he won't duck anyone and already have a W against Sergio so it would be more interesting.
tbh the only fight i'm really interested in is with Floyd, i think would beat easily anyone else from 147 to 160.
Martinez is overrated. Cotto or Margarito could both beat him.
He's not what he's made out to be.
The same Margarito who got destroyed by Mosley and treated like a punching bag by Pac? The same Cotto who barely beat Clottey? LMAO
Margarito can't beat Martinez at this stage of the game. Martinez dismantles Cotto quickly. He might be a lil' bit too overhyped but he schools them both.
Martinez starting to become Mayweather type shameless with his contradictions.
Earlier this year says Pacquiao has been fighting no-hopers and claims he will soon be #1...yet he went on to fight less proven opposition than Pac and has also been chasing these so-called no-hopers that Pac beat as an undersized welter, from MIDDLEWEIGHT! What a clown
I think the bigger issue here would be if Arum would want to work with Dibella. I still don't think either Margarito or Cotto would fight Martinez for that very reason.
They work together all the time, despite the trash talk. Chavez Jr is gonna be fighting Manfredo (DBE fighter) this year.
Too bad Martinez doesn't bring in any money to the table. Cotto will make more against Margarito with whatever the split is than fighting Martinez with 100% of the split.
And Martinez never called out Marg until after Pac broke his face in. Marg still beats his ass tho.
You kidding me? Marg walks into every left and get blasted. Sergio's pop right now is retarded. It wouldn't end well for this version of Marg.

Im not sure Marg would fight Martinez if he got padst Cotto.More chance than Cotto-Sergio that for sure but I still doubt Marg would sacrifice his career with a pretty much guaranteed loss. He would be coming off a 2nd Cotto win with big money fights ahead of him. He would be in a position to cherry pick and cash in. I doubt he would chose the hardest opponent for least cash
I don't blame Maravilla for feeling this way. Margo will be willing to take a beating and smile afterwards. The Only guy who can handle punishment better is Victor Ortiz after he got K.O.'d TFO. Cotto used to be a guy that had something to prove not anymore. We can only hope that if he gets past Margo he will step up to the challenge and solidify his career by facing the best @ 160.
I'm all for Martinez, dude is the real deal, but come on. Cotto has fought so much amazing talent that anyone calling him a duck is just a hater and an idiot (not necessarily including Martinez since in all likeliness he's just taunting him to get some bills).
Martinez beats him though.
I think the key takeaway here is the difference between chasing money and chasing money with something to prove. Martinez is a contender (I think). Not to mention, a lot of people think that he's fun to watch. That's...oh..kind of important in boxing.
But, my point - Cotto can afford to use the "money is wrong" excuse or reason (whichever you prefer to call it). Martinez can't. He has beaten some strong guys and has a decent resume, but he's calling out the guys that are big names because he wants the purse. The difference is, he doesn't care if he's not suppose to win in the court of public opinion. He wants the fight for the exposure and for the cash. Granted, I'm sure he thinks he can win, but he just doesn't have to (read: can't afford to) be as careful in his opponent selection.
I think the only person Martinez would not be the favorite over of his called out opponents would be Mayweather, and I would still think Martinez should be expected to win that fight.

For starters, Tony already beat Martinez into submission so I don't see what he has to worry about.
Secondly, Cotto is a big ticket fighter who is used to getting paid at least a couple mill a fight. He's already fought everyone there is to fight so I doubt fear enters into his equation.
He just looks at Martinez as a small timer who doesn't bring the cash he's accustomed to. Simple as that.
If Martinez was selling out arenas in Germany or Argentina or Spain or L.A and brought Cotto the kind of money he's used to making, Cotto would sign in a second.
Unfortunately, Martinez is fighting Darren Barker on a hbo boxing after dark level fight on Saturday. Do the math son.
pactard using flomo math????
If Margarito wins he I am sure he will face Martinez if a Cotto trilogy doesn't happen lol. Martinez shouldn't talk sh1t about Cotto. Cotto has fought the best, and has earned his due in the sport.
da fukkk? Martinez seems desperate for a payday. He should move down to 154, and tax urry1 up in thurrrrr. Who can fukk with him? Cotto? Canelo? Margarito? Clottey? Vanes? Mayorga? Cintron? Angulo? da fukkk? he eats all those guys for breakfast, and sh1ts them down the toilet. If he's willing to move down to 150, which is stupid then why not 154?
Naw move up to 168. He wont get credit beating anyone smaller than that division including Floyd and Pacquiao

He was cheating then. Most likely
What's down in the dark must come to light
