like fight agressivly like the old mw brawler hopkins thenswithc gears and box
would this keep him guessing
would it work???
should he box or pressure dawson
is he too old to pressure for teh whole 12????
anyone have a prediction or thoughts about tactics for this one>?????
This is funny since you basically contradicted yourself. You said you hope hopkins performs well, which would give Dawson 100% credit if he wins and age wouldn't be an excuse. Yet here you clearly state he's 46 years old and can't do the things he once did before.
Anyways, I think he will fight more aggressive similar to how he fought Pascal. He'll never be able to be the old MW brawler because of his age, but he can still be the aggressor.
What I meant was I don't want Hopkins aging overnight where he looks shot. I want Hopkins to be at the level when he fought Pavlik or Pascal at least.
He can fight at a high level but nowhere near the boxer he was in his prime. I've noticed Hopkins started slipping when he fought Howard Eastman in 2005, he later lost to Taylor twice that same year. Probably his body couldn't sustain being a MW anymore. Against Calzaghe, Hopkins couldn't even get off he was being overwhelmed by Calzaghe's workrate.

BHop is gonna do the same he's been doing. Why the hell would he change now?!
If you gots a great f*cking BBQ recipe (say a juicy pull pork) that wins over and over again for decade in a competition, would you change it all of sudden?? HELL NO.
If B-hop mixes it up,(boxing & applying pressure), Dawson is toast. But B-Hop cannot fight at that slow pace that he likes so much, That's Dawson country. Dawson wants a slow paced tactical match. He has the advantages in 1. But if B-Hop mixes it up, Dawsosn will get confused & frusterated. B-Hop's stamina is on point, he's just a slow started. dawson fights at a slow pace period, speed it up & slow it down & he's done.
kind of what i was thinking too
i think he should be trying to get into chads head too
Dawson is going to be very hard to beat for B-Hop, especially at that age
even a few years ago when Dawson was calling him out, always thought Dawson was a BAD MATCH UP for B-Hop Stylistically
Physically...it is nothing Dawson CAN'T DO...Mentally is were B-Hop will have to beat him to get that win
now this truly could be a Terry Norris vs Ray Leonard type situation, I think Dawson beats B-Hop by SD or UD

B-Hop needs to be consistent in this fight, if he really pushes himself I doubt he can be consistent over the whole fight at a high aggression level.
To me he would be playing into Dawson hands doing that, where if he just stays consistent he can then use his energy to better take advantage of Dawson inconsistencies.
I doubt the fight is going to have a crystal clear winner, so it will all be about the moments each had, the clearer each guy can make those moments the better for each.
Are you forgetting that Hopkins is 46 years old? It's been noted that Hopkins has stamina problems since he turned 40, he CAN'T fight at a high-work rate. Watch his fights, he's proven time and again that he can no longer do that.
Are you forgetting that Dawson is a very skilled boxer himself? You think changing gears would fool Dawson?
So who do you put your e-points in? Let's make a bet of 10 Million.
I have Hopkins winning over Dawson.

the good thing for hopkins is he's the a-side so if it's a close decision he will probably get it unlike the taylor fights where taylor was the future star in the making or against calzaghe where hbo was heavily promoting him at the time and already had jones-calzaghe ppv done if calzaghe won.
