Would it really ruin boxing if they just made one belt per division?

u can stiill make money and gain a fan base even if u dont have a bogus belt the llinear champoinchip or a general consenus no 1 raking is what actually matters title belts arent gonna mean much at all soon.

who cares about them? do we really need every fighter to be groomed into a star? the best should fight the best. most of these frauds would never be good enough to even earn a title shot. having 1 belt would separate the pretenders from the real deals. the other guys would have to fight each other to earn a shot and the champ would fight the best available challenger. makes perfect sense to me. that's the problem with boxing. everyone thinks they deserve to be world champ just for simply showing up or being popular. Yea totally who cares about the boxers... IF you want a belt you need to be undefeated PERIOD.....you realize if a fighter lost he would have to fight 5 or 6 times to get his "spot" back in line(DEPENDING ON ACTIVE FIGHTERS IN THE DIVISION). That's 2-3 years later, chances are you would have a different champion, and the fighter wouldn't be as good as he was 2-3 years ago and he would never get his title shot. Do you know how many fighters would fall into this loop? ALL OF THEM except the undefeated fighters... Mayweather Calzaghe Valero Marciano and Chavez JR would be our ATG

No way it ruins it. That's one of the things wrong with boxing. Boxing would be much better with one belt per division.

ruin??????it would enhance it The only reason I see why boxing is keeping it like how it is right now is because Boxing is corrupt and money talks! With several belts per divisions and the WBC's,IBF's,WBO's and so forth they collect so many BS fee's from the fighters. By making one belt per division it would be bad for the Jose Sulaiman's of boxing. Having one belt per division would create integrity not money or not lol I dont know...It's just a risk I dont think boxing is willing to do at this point.

I think in the end it will better for the sport in the long run. What do you guys think? Would say two belts per class should be enough. That way you can create two separate tracks and let the champions meet when they get to the top.

That would be awesome but its something that will never ever happen! These alphabet organizations are only there to make money plus the promoters love belts to build up hype jobs and make more money (JCC jnr, Canelo etc)

No, it would make it much, much better and respectable. Every fighter that dreams to be a champion has to fight the best, it honestly can't get much better than that.
