Greatest fighter since 1990

Whitaker above all the guys on the list, and it's not even close. Lopez is right up there with Pernell, and maybe slightly ahead of him. LOL at DLH being on the list. Borderline all-time great at best.

Sports fans in general have short memories. Excluding the two most followed fighter, the choices seem fairly obvious: Whitaker, RJJ, and Hopkins Hopkins greatest in longevity. RJJ greatest in peak. Whitaker will probably rank highest based on your criteria. But I have Charlie Zelenoff not far behind. Why is Richardo Lopez not on this list if Calzaghe is on it?

Wanted to choose both Whitaker and Pac, it's very close between them. Hopkins, Jones were outstanding athletes, B-Hop still is, it's hard to pick from these fighters, because people see greatness in different ways, e.g. B-Hop the oldest to win a World Title Roy Jones Jr. was an incredibly talented athlete who won a HW title Pac, winning the most titles in the most divisions Floyd, beating multiple champs to become a champ Whitaker, simply oustanding fighter Depends of the way you look at it, many would choose Sweet Pea but some would pick Pac because of his number of titles etc. Could've replaced Trinidad with somebody like Toney.

Good thread, hard to pick. You didn't even put down James Toney who beat more good fighters in 1991 than some of those guys beat in their entire career.

I really wanted to pick Roy Jones. he was amazing. But I think BHop edges him out with his impressive career. But its between those two. Chavez or Whitaker would be next.

How many on this list got that? i dont care how many times he beat up cab drivers and chumps.... his best win is against a 40yr old that could have won the decision and he got knocked down he was very good cause he was the best of a group of good fighters and he was really damn fast... but... the best since 1990....??? no way.

I know most people will pick Sweet Pea, Roy, Manny, and Floyd, But you can't count Bernard out of the discussion. Middleweight champion for 10 years with 19 defenses of his IBF title. Won Kings Middleweight tourney. Took Tarver's soul. Took Pavlik's soul. Got robbed in one of the Taylor fights. Very close fight with Calzaghe. Became oldest champ ever in defeating Pascal. He beats Dawson, his name is definitely in the discussion.

How doe Joe only have 2 votes? He is the only fighter on the list who was truly undefeated since 1990. Floyd lost to Jose Luis Castillo his only good win was bhop and u could argue he got a lucky nod from teh judges
