i really tried getting into mma, but its just so damn sloppy. 89% of the time the 'fighters' r rolling on the ground with eachother. the other 11% of the time they look like 8th graders at the school flag pole swinging wildly, with almost zero skill at all; And if theres a ko, more than likely it was a wild lucky shot; and dont even get me started with how winded these 'fighters' look after throwing a few shots and staring at each other, smh. And if their on the ground, usually the stronger 'fighter' has their way with the weaker.
when youtube 'fighters' like kimbo can come out the wood works and compete in a championship fight, u kno somethings wrong with the 'sport'.
i take boxing over any combat sport, hands down, but i would definitly put kickboxing, muy thai, and other specific skilled combat sports over mma.
thats y u c so many weekend warriors in mma, bc it really usually boils down to luck and strength, instead of skill and tactics.
im a boxer, and i used to train at a predominatly mma gym, and i used to always spar (full mma, not just stand-up) with the mma guys and i would easily avoid they're take downs and dominate with my hands, not even going 100%.
and im not even talking only weekend warriors, im talking black belt jujistsus and full time mma fighters, who compete
it is just way to sloppy, and most of these guys never truly develope their skills, either bc they already think they're the shyt, or bc they focus on to much at once; And when i watch these big pro mma fights , i typically c the same, smh.
boxing ftw
I just don't see any skills in UFC no grace I couldn't watch it even tho My cousin orders every UFC card.. just doesn't seem like a sport to me more like an entertainment like watching WWE
Saying that those guys dont have any skills is just retarted ...but i dont blame you because just dont understand the technical aspect of the sport. Its like in boxing , most people just want to see 2 guys brawling like idiots and dont really understand what's really going on the ring. You actually have train yourself to see whats really happening in the ring to better appreciate it .. same thing with mma.
I'm a fan of both sports but i think boxing is still a bit more popular than mma. Funny thing , in the mma gym I train at most of the guys didnt watch ufc last weekend they kept talking about the Mayweather Ortiz fight. Even my BJJ coach kept talking about it lol.
yeah that's probably true maybe I don't know what to look for and I don't notice the little things I remember watching a fight last year and some guy was just punching on a guy laying on the ground looking half unconscious not protecting himself blood all over the canvas that doesn't seem like a sport to me
I see this point and alot of people do. I am a big foxing fan and have been for many years, But MMA has evolved and is attracting alot of fans boxing wouldn't. regardless, for me it fills my saturday nights when there is no boxing or a crappy expensive card is put on. Most of the fights that people find entertaining anyways are the ones where they standup and fight..
I used to agree with you but not anymore. I still prefer boxing but I now love both sports. The more you watch MMA and learn about it the more gracefull it looks. Kinda like how people who don't know boxing aren't always impressed with Bernard Hopkins or Juan Manuel Marquez because they don't totally get the brilliance of what they are doing.

Also, there fewer instances of corruption in mmgay like Agbeko/Mares and Ramos Maruqez
Yeah it's a clean sport.........where 1 org has a monopoly on the entire sport, nearly all the "fighters" are on the juice, ****ty refs, TERRIBLE judging, a color commentator that shows up high on coke and the whole thing is support by 2 italian casino owners with vegas mob ties
Also, there fewer instances of corruption in mmgay like Agbeko/Mares and Ramos Maruqez
and bailing out of obligations like Dirrell. and less pretend brain injuries.
its funny when i read comments like ufc/mma is gay, bunch of guys rolling around on the ground but what u guys fail to see is, thats part of the game. just like boxing u have some boxers that are very defensive or slick and doesnt like to get tag a lot its the same thing as when these mma guys is on the ground. there ground game is better so they choose that instead.
Why are you here? Go back to sherdog with the rest of the closet cases
Choking someone is classless and takes no skill. Floyd Mayweather choked the hell out of Victor at the weigh ins with no previous training whatsoever.
In boxing, James Toney would've been Randy Couture but when you are allowed to do gay and cheap ****, Randy rapes him.
Boxing isn;t just floyd and pac, oh wait it is to you casual retards that don't know dick about the sweet science
yet you drool over some $3000/$3000 9-5-1 MMA losers rolling around on the ground
Anderson Silva,B.J Penn and George St.Peirre and John Jones have mad skils..Rampage has good stand up as well
In terms of entertainment UFC(MMA) has it covered. In terms of big fights and hype, definitely boxing. I usually watch boxing on Friday nights and either boxing or UFC on saturdays (usually record the one I cant watch live). UFC definitely stacks their cards though. I do hate it when they crawl all over each other for too long..

If Floyd took less vacations I'd watch more boxing.
Compared to mmgay, Pacquiao takes alot of vacations as well but boxers could use more rest since they get punched in the head hundreds of times each time out..
