Hey chaps,
I have an assignment for college in which I have to analyse two sports people in terms of personality and motiviation and how it affects their sporting performances. I then have to give examples to back up my analysation of their personalitys.
I have decided to choose a boxer and I am thinking mike tyson may be the one to go for, what does everyone else think? Mike certainly has had many incidents where his personality has affected his sporting performances.
cheers
well as u want lots of documentation..theres always Bernard Hopkins...De La Hoya has lots out there as well...Tyson would def b an option as u said..whos ur other athlete?? Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Michael Phelps, all should have lots of news on em
Johnny Tapia is a fascinating guy.
Micky Ward is better documented.
Gamboa had to sell his Gold medals to get to the US.
Kassim Ouma has one of the most interesting stories ever. Look it up.
The Mayweather-Pacquiao dichotomy would be an interesting and timely choice of subject.
Too many lies and bull**** storys and the saga isn't really over.
Anyone else got any ideas?
Any other reccomendations?
The person in question must have heaps of materials about them on the internet etc and be famous in the outside world aswell as inthe boxing circle.
thanks

I would suggest Mayweather as one, since his motivation is obvious, and his personality is spread all over the newspapers. The source material is readily available. As for another, I would chose someone like Gene Tunney, since HIs motivation was also obvious and his stilted personality came through in the articles he wrote. To him boxing was just a means through which he gained his objective, which was social status.
If you want a really difficult subject, Tyson would be the one, or Jack Johnson.
