Could be a way to cope with the mental pain of a loss by going through physical pain. Theraputic to some. Accupuntcture? There really is no pain in getting tattoo'd. It's kind of a scratching feeling. But the thing is there are paintings that you can hang on your wall that are great works of art...masterpieces that people will admire and want to look at. Then there are also paintings created by an uncoordinated 6 yr old that has no gift for painting... and unless that was YOUR 6 yr old who created it... you probably wouldn't hang it on your wall. Some tattoo's are really works of art...but some people just have no idea how messed up they look when done by a hack without talent or the honesty to tell the client it will look like crap on you. Then once it starts to fade it just looks like dark splotches unless you keep having it touched up.

I'm not a tattoo guy but when I want to change I first do it physically. Maybe start working out, or get on a good diet, or get a new haircut, change the way I dress. I do want a tattoo, been wanting one for years but don't know what to get yet, I have had some ideas but don't want to do them. It's a tough decision to put ink on your skin.

I read somewhere that when one needs to change ourselves we do it physically first cuz it helps to then go internally...

Pavlik was already covered with tattoos...Cotto's looked bad enough and now had added the bottom portion making it look worse...really cheap no style crap. I don't get it...either find a guy who can do art or don't bother.

Berto's was fake and Mosley was coming off a win. I think fighters get tattoos after they lose in an attempt to redefine themselves. One way to change who you are is change the way you look.

Mosley whooped Margarito and then got the tattoo so no. And Berto doesn't have any visible tats, look at his fight with Zaveck. Corrected. and I put Mosley as a victim of father time.
