WBO/WBA/Ring lightweight champion Juan Manuel “Dinamita” Marquez (54-5-1, 39 KO’s) has been insisting for years now that he was cheated of victory in his previous two contests with WBO welterweight champion Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao (53-3-2, 38 KO’s).
The whole basis for a Trilogy between Marquez and Manny Pacquiao is that “Dinamita” has been clamoring for another fight since their second match in 2008. Marquez claimed after that fight that he was robbed of victory in both the 2004 and 2008 fights.
Let’s take a serious look at both fights to see what really happened.
In the first fight between Marquez and Manny Pacquiao in 2004 when the combatants fought at 126 pounds the contest was called a draw, despite Marquez having been knocked down three times in the first round. It is true that Marquez did turn around the tempo of the fight, but what he declines to tell people is that one of the judges made an error in his scorecard when tabulating the points for each fighter. The judge ruled the first round 10-7 in favor of Pacquiao instead of the 10-6 that it should have been scored because of the three knockdowns. If the scorecards had been tabulated correctly Manny Pacquiao would have been the winner. The judge later admitted his mistake. Despite this Marquez still clings to the notion that he actually won the fight.
In the second fight in 2008 Marquez and Manny Pacquiao fought at 130 pounds. Marquez lost the fight by a split decision. Marquez thought he had done enough to win but a third round knockdown scored by Manny was the deciding factor in his winning the decision. Granted it was a close fight but again there appears to be no basis for the Marquez camp to make the assertion that he was deprived of victory.
When two boxers fight it out down to the wire in a competitive and close fight, the loser almost always feels that he won the fight. That is a normal phenomenon in boxing. “Dinamita” has been beating the drums for such a long time that he was cheated of victory in his two fights with Pacquiao that many people have been swayed into believing him.
Marquez has received much attention through his non stop comments to the press that Pacquiao did not deserve victory in the previous two fights. His campaign finally paid off in that he will be meeting Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao for the third time on November 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. For Marquez, who is in the twilight of his career, the Trilogy against Pacquiao will be his most lucrative fight. Even if he does not pull off a victory he will benefit financially in his fight with Manny Pacquiao.
Manny Pacquiao is confident that he will end all the controversy when he steps into the ring to do battle with Juan Manuel Marquez.

People claiming like either was one sided seriously need to shut the hell up and watch the tape. Nobody "whipped" anybody. It was 24 rounds of all out, back and forth war from both men that could have gone either way with the decision or draw. Both fights.
Anyone who denies this post, especially regarding the second fight, which is the most even fight I've ever watched, just needs to shut up because you are refusing to give either Pacquiao or Marquez credit for anything.
the judge admitted that he should have scored it 10-6. its not like he saw that punch and said it has to be 10-7.
but we're all for everything going by the book right?

very well said......
pac has really shown fans his explosiveness and very convincing wins before that fights that were later very close were deemed as disappointments and even losses for pac...
and add to this jmm's cry baby posture just to get a third fight for the big money and you have now an interesting trilogy...hmmmm
i read this all the time. "If the judge didn't mess up with the scoring, pac would have won", well.. How about the third knockdown in the first round? Pac clearly hits marquez when hes down. If we wan't to be correct, and not have the judge make a mistake, how would that factor into it?

:boxing:
having close fights with an ATG in your prime is better than getting owned by just a good fighter in your prime
Pacquiao Good, Pacquiao humble, Paquiao ATG, Paquiao GOAT, Pacquiao fast, Pacquiao strong.
JMM pissdrinker, JMM gay, JMM whinner, JMM stupid.
Pacquiao so strong he kill JMM next. Pacquiao god.
fcuk off tijuana tlacuache
Tijuana fighters work on their endurance with donkeys at tijuana donkey shows.
Mexico city > Tijuana
Ok this settled it for me
Pac fans are by far the dumbest fans out there!
At least Floyds momo fans have valid points when arguing
we may not all agree with them but at least they try and make a case
and not just use the limited english they know like pac fans who
are ESL and make foolish comments.
and lets get this straight
both fights could have gone either way and were in no way blowouts or azkickings by pac.
and finally this fight in November is a joke and when Pac knocks JMM the fook out within 5 rounds he gets no credit from me and he should not get any credit from any of you either.
pac is a SHAM!
Floyd is a SHAM!
I cant wait for them to RETIRE!
once again pacquiao has to have all the advantages. can't believe the fight is happening at 144.
smh at those who think this will be a close fight. it'll be a blowout and pacquiao also doesn't get any credit from me.

in the first fight, its clearly Manny win that fight. In the second it could be draw or Marquez if Manny didnt drop him. The officiating judges is doing it right because the knockdown gives the factor on the whole fight. Although ill say its a razor thin closed fight, But on this third time; Manny will KO Marquez
I scored the 1st two fights to Marquez. Both close fights but this 3rd meeting will be the 1st decisive result which cant be disupted aftewards.
This time Pacquiao will do the jpob properly and leave no room for debate. He has come on since the last fight whereas I think Marquez has slowed down and at welterweight will not carry the same threat with his timing and movement. Pac has had a nightmare with his style twice and so he will be working on a solid gameplan going into this one.
Shane has never been a technical boxer and Marg doesnt use his boxing skills either so it has been a while since Pac has had to use his boxing brain in the ring. Marquez will make him think but will soon realise it isnt the same guy he outboxed afew years ago. He will be facing a bigger stronger harder hitting opponent who wants to get closure on this boxing trilogy. By the time he met Erik the 3rd time the Mexican had very little to offer and I think now he has got Marquez at the right time too.
Both of them close fights, first fight I had Pacquiao winning by 3 rounds second fight I had Pacquiao winning by a round.
Marquez will be stronger, more experienced, bigger, and carry more power, as well as have him great timing, durable chin and amazing powers of recovery.
The third part of this trilogy could proved it's best and most exciting.
Can't wait for this one.
