When you consider Marquez will be 38 years of age, he will be fighting some way out his natural weight class at 144lb.
Only last year he was dropped by Michael Katsidis, nearly stopped by Juan Diaz in 2009 and has already be wipe washed by Floyd Mayweather.
I really do find it hard to give JMM much of a chance. Manny is like a new fighter since there last fight.
A BoxingScene poster's memory is very short. It was cleary stated here several times, when the fight was being arranged, BY Marquez, that in the mayweather fight he just didn't train to take off weight and that the extra weight he had was "bad" weight.
For THIS fight, he said, that he will put on the weight carefully and scientifically, he will hire a special nutritionist and make sure that the weighr he puts on can be carried so that he loses NO speed. So it will be good weight.
I'm paraphrasing but THAT is (exactly) what he said. So all this nonsense that the usual poster scaremongers are manufacturing so that they have something to worry about.....is a nonstarter. Marquez expects to be equal in weight to MannyP. and at his usual skill and speed.
:lol1:
Uh huh.
I don't blame any fighter that does this against Pacquiao.
That is what Marquez said, but we know for a FACT that he didn't look good last time he went up to 144lbs. And Marquez didn't get any younger since 2009(38yrs old). An he said it himself that Pacquiao did not want to fight lower than 144, when his TEAM tried hard to get them to lower the weight limit. Which i also find odd since Pacquiao has to eat to the point of vomiting(as shown in 24/7) to even keep that weight.
so from what you wrote , i will have to disagree.
there's a legitimate concern that you conveniently chose to leave out.
We 'll see how he looks on November.

The weight is not the problem. They will probably be closer in weight than the last time they fought.
JMM's age is the problem. He is not as sharp or as quick as he used to be. PAC is going to be able to hit him, early and often.
I still think his weight will be some issue. I think he plans to weigh around 142-144 at weigh ins, where he'll be a bit heavier than that on fight night. he's basically screwed either way. He's not in his division and he's a little older, there's no way for him to even put up a close fight in my opinion.

first of who says its hard for pac to make 144?....why not 140?....there's no belt on the line at 140, thats common knowledge......sergio taking risk fighting a non ranked fighter in his last fight and darrne barker soon?....you call that taking risk?...lol....
there's no belt on the line at 150 or 145.......
pactards...............
So the question you may want to ask yourself is why if its hard for PAC to make 144? Why would'nt he fight JMM at 140? Im a PAC fan as well as a Floyd fan but the ducking and weight draining to deminishes there legacy. If you were to be honest right now Sergio is the one whose taking the bigger risk and eventhough he called out Floyd and PAC at 154. If they didnt have belts or had fought there before then why wouldnt they take the risk and fight him at 154. P4P means exactly that. FLOYD after being called out by Marquez made him come up two weight classes the same as PAC is doing. So Martinez has the right to ask them to come up one weight class.
JMM Hall of famer but for the right money will give you a great fight. Only behind Floyd and Hopkins for best Boxers on the planet. Andre Ward is creeping up though.

nah.......jmm will still give pac trouble.....and the weight aint really much of a big deal here unless jmm shows up outweighing pac on fight night...which would be stupid...
If it wasn't a mismatch then arum wouldn't of let this fight happen..catch weight,JMM won't be comfortable with the weight once the rounds pass..and of course his age..perfect cherry picked fight for duckqiao.
and you'll see mr congressman will fight williams at catch weight after jmm.
congressman can go toe to toe

Everyone he fought from Hatton, Cotto, Clottey, Margarito, Mosley were all considered mismatches after the fight was over. Sooo I guess you can add Marquez to the list. Everyone he beats up turned out to be all mismatches. Pacquiao so unfair!!!
