Switch Agbeko for Mares and I feel that way. Can't wait! I don;t have to tell you to have fun, you're gonna be on the beach all night. just don;t get caught up in the stupid clubs. If you have watched a lot of Agbeko, you also notice he has no problems in brawling and coming forward. He's done it in the past and I think his heart gets in the way of his brain sometimes. I see Mares as a much smarter fighter, his performance against Vic was great considering he suffered a knockdown and serious cut early in the fight. He held his composure and didn't panic, thinking about the rounds go by. It will be a great fight no doubt and I don't underestimate Agbeko, I just think in the end, Mares is to versatile for him. Ive watched quite a bit of agbeko, which is why I think he's more versatile and awkward and controls range better.

I think you're right, but Agbeko shouldn't let that happen. Mares will eventually become the aggressor. Mares could definitely prove me wrong about his boxing skills. I've said many times this is a close fight, but Agbeko can control range and get out of the way of some of those combos BUT, to your point, Abner has the size advantage and reach advantage AND age advantage. If he can make King Kong come to him, those counters will probably hit home, I just don't know that Agbeko will be there for the 5-7 punch combos. Agbeko tends to get wild with his 3rd and 4th punches so if he trades with Mares, he's gonna be fuked. Honestly all BS aside, I think you underestimate Mares. I think he's about as a complete fighter as you will find in boxing. He can box, counter punch, brawl and pressure. He throws great combo's and is a tough kid who isn't scarred to see his own blood or let cuts bother him. I feel if he pressures Agbeko, it will be a tougher fight for him because Agbeko is awkward and likes to pot shot from the outside when you decide to pressure. If he allows Agbeko to come to him, I think it will be an easier fight for him because he can counter very well and his combo's will come into play. Mares is a fairly skilled grinder to me. He's strong, throws nice combos (althOugh he used to he better with um) and can overwhelm guys. He's got a ton of heart and will to win. I dont think that's enuff to beat king kong but that sciatica and a little incojsistency from king kong make me a bit nervous.. To me, mares was able to bully vic a little (vic is a small bw) and tire perez out. I know the business isn't fair, and Golden Boy and Top Rank hate each other, but until I saw that article I thought it was a given that Donaire got the bantam tourney winner. If Mares does then Donaire has to wait? For Moreno? Bullsh**. If that happens, it will be a sign that Agbeko has slipped or was just not training well enuff. I doubt it will happen, Agbeko is a beast!:boxing:

Agbeko is extremely underrated by a lot of people. He got ripped of against Sydorenko in Germany and was sick or something against Perez, whom he thoroughly dominated in the rematch. If he is near 100% health-wise, he will outbox Mares who I personally feel is a little overrated. What's good Walt I got Agbeko as well(War)tbh I thought Mares lost to Chinny..I'm not all the way sold on Mares but I do like him and think he is a good fighter..From what I seen from everyone in this tournament I just think Agbeko is the most skilled...If he is on top of his game he takes it,I would not be surprised if he stops Mares either...
