This time Pac will give him a serious beating just like Oscar, Hatton and Mosley. Pac already has the habit of retiring those men Floyd recently fought. Watchout!
Pac already fought Marquez twice and arguably beat him twice. The immediate rematch has no point because if the fight was so close again, what do you want another rematch again? Pac made the right decision and historical significant when he beat Diaz for his 4 belts in another weight division. Without the Diaz fight, the opportunity to fight Oscar would be lost as Oscar would fight someone else. Pac made his name known to casual fans when he beat Oscar. The thing you can't say the same even if Pac beat Marquez for the 3rd time.
Yes, an immediate rematch with Marquez would have been nicely warranted over a fight against an irrelevant weak belt holder! People love bringing up Oscar like they new the path that laid ahead for Pac at the time!
Really? I guess the Margarito fight was cool to you huh? Why, may I ask?
He'd been one of the top WWs for many years. The title was obviously bullshit and Margarito didnt deserve a big payday after the cheating, but its hardly a cherrypick. He was still a big , strong guy who threw lots of punches and had a good chin. I can name many elite fighters who took on softer opponents than Antonio Margarito.
what kind of fan are you?? you dont mind marquez health at all?? marquez don't belong at WW....
Is this not the same Marquez who came up two divisions to fight Floyd at 144 lbs. but was later cheated because the bigger guy would not honor the agreement?
Must not be the same Marquez because some people are saying that in spite of being 2+ inches shorter, 5 inch less reach and 10/15 lbs. lighter, that other Marquez was still a great win for Floyd.
This Marquez that Pac is scheduled to fight must not be the same Marquez that Floyd fought because this new guy has no business in the WW division, according to those who gave Floyd credit for his win against the other Marquez. It does not matter that this new Marquez is almost equal in size and other stats to Pac except for being lighter by about 3 lbs. at fight night. It also does not matter that the contracted weight is 144 lbs., which maybe a small concession, but still an advantage in favor of this Marquez, not Pac's. Incidentally, that was the same agreement the other Marquez had with Floyd to make that fight less of a mismatch. Not honoring that agreement was not a big deal, according to some. Marquez was paid anyway.
Therefore, even if he wins, Pac cannot be given any credit for it since obviously, this is a mismatch. Floyd's win over the other Marquez is of a different nature and circumstance. It is on the same level as his great wins over Mitchell, Judah, Baldomir, the LWW hatton and the 38 year old Mosley.
What can you say? Are you serious? Pac's doing the same thing against an older version of someone he already beat you dip****! Well, you said it best. Pac is fighting guys that have all been beaten already by Floyd. Yes, Pac fought Marquez a decade ago first.
But, when Marquez moved up two divisions to fight Floyd Floyd got so slammed by all the rabid Pac fans it wasn't funny. Now Pac's doing it and it's all cool and it's about retiring fighters that Floyd already beat rather than taking ****ty fights against fighters he shouldn't be fighting?
Of course Oscar, Mosley weren't in their prime. How does that make it ok for Pac then when he fought both of them after bad losses to Floyd? Why is it ok for Pac to fight Marquez now doing the same as Floyd did by making him move up when Marquez is much older again?
While Hatton wasn't shot, it was his last fight and he had clearly lost something from being knocked out in the biggest fight of his career not long before. It was a great win, but the 140/147 difference is minimal to nothing. Floyd moved up from 130 so it was as much of an advantage for Hatton as for Floyd.
Either way, you're still simply saying that Pac is doing nothing but fighting guys that have already been beaten by Floyd, are past their prime or shot because you yourself are admitting that they weren't prime when they fought Floyd and he beat all of them before Pac. I guess it's ok to keep fighting guys coming off losses to your nemesis as long as you make sure to beat them better...no matter how much older, how many more losses they are coming off, how much more shot and ****e they might be.
I still agree with you though. Marquez is getting hit a lot easier than ever, is much older, slower, worse reflexes and moving up two divisions....against a great fighter in his prime. He's going to take a beating. Sadly. You might like it, but you're pretty obviously a cunt.
OUCH!
lol, why so mean?
They have 2 exciting fights that were also controversial, a 3rd fight made sense. Until someone wins convincingly, it was inevitable that they'd fight again.
You said "makes sense", I fixed it for ya. You're welcome
How many times has Pacquiao claimed greatness though? and Mosley is really the only real inexcusable fight hes had.
Really? I guess the Margarito fight was cool to you huh? Why, may I ask?
Talk about a tread backfiring. The average fight fan, who has any type of boxing knowledge is realizing that the Pacman smoke & mirrors act is getting long in the tooth. Pacman is Floyding 2.0. Ts is bragging about Pacman beating a man that got hurt by Katsidis at lightweight. At welterweight that was a $hitty fight when Floyd beat him there. That's a crying shame. I don't think I would have been able to look at my reflection if I was defending a guy that did nothing but beat on shot 40 year olds while claiming greatness.

Simple. Pac got passed because he was a midget (anybody who weighed in 148 fight night at WW should move down to 135 or 140) and everybody thought back then he has no business fighting at welterweight while Floyd is the complete opposite. Pac will fight Marquez with the possibility of 1 or 2 lbs difference unlike Floyd who most probably had 10-15 lbs advantage over Marquez in their fight.
Pac fought first a decade younger Marquez at his best weight 126 and 130. Floyd baited the lightweight Marquez to move 2 divisions above and cheated him when he came 2 lbs overweight. So what can you say?

Marquez is 65yrs old so what do you expect?

So what you're saying is that Floyd fights them when they are ripe for the taking while Pac fights all of Floyds left-overs while they are just shot or old and have just been badly beaten already?
Anyway, it's another 40 year old that's already past his best years and looking worse than ever with every possible advantage against him, made worse by having to move up two divisions to where he was already beaten badly years ago by Floyd. Great fight.....Pac's really taking some serious tests and showing Floyd and his fans how it's done....
Errr, you know, cause they get better with age and more losses.....What better time to fight someone than when they've just been beaten or clearly past it?
I guess fighting 40 year olds, guys about to retire or coming off bad losses (funnily enough usually to the guy that Pac fans are always ranting about fighting old shot fighters) is what's called P4P greatness now.
Don't tell me Oscar and Mosley were in their prime when Floyd beat them? Don't tell me after Hatton first loss automatically he became shot? Pac has 3 losses is he shot as well? Floyd fighting style he thinks for his own safety first and content to win by decision. Pac fighting style is seek and destroy, gave his opponents (Barrera, Morales, Diaz, Oscar, Hatton, Cotto, Clottey, Margarito and Mosley) the worst beating they had their entire boxing career from a midget, he embarrassed them, humiliated them to the point where some of them had no other choice but to retire (Oscar, Hatton, Clottey, possibly Mosley).
Pac fought Hatton at his best weight 140 > Floyd fought Hatton at 147
Pac fought prime Marquez at 126 & 130 > Floyd at 144 and came 2 lbs overweight

Late reply here, but you don't need to tell the details on what happened and who called who out..I already know em! Fighting Diaz did not give Manny more credit, exposure and money than a supposed 3rd fight against Marquez or/nor fights against the top fighters at Lightweight.
Bottom line is Manny left the rematch for way too long to the point it's a **** fight.

Pac moved up. With Diaz, he got his 4th belt at 4th different weight class. Plus he got paid good.
That fight with Diaz got Manny the "credit, exposure and more money". Oscar called him out after that fight.

Yeah...it would be great.
The simple, sad fact is though that Marquez is another 40 year old, well past his best fighter that is slower, easier to hit and moving up two weight divisions to fight a peak, many years younger prime guy at his arguably best natural weight.
It's a given outcome and is exactly why the fight has been made. Marquez has next to no chance anymore at his current age and level. He just doesn't have the stuff he used to (he's actually dropped significantly TBH) whereas Pac is as good as he's ever been.
In all honesty, Marquez really didn't look very good at all against Katsidis. As fun as the fight was, it was only fun because Marquez has slid so badly in the last couple of years and with well over a year off with a useless, one round fight in between he's going to slow as hell to start off and rusty. Kind of makes me sad for such a warrior to be thrown to the lions with every possible advantage given to the opponent when he's already got all the natural advantages.
That's all that needs to be said here.
Floyd fans are so forgetful. Remember Pac already fought him twice and beat him twice. When you called someone is ducking a certain fighter after beating him twice needs to check his brain for abnormality. So what is the rush when you have plenty of fish to fry than eat the same pork for a third time.
