It is different. But when you start to do the "whos the toughest" yadayadayada, people get defensive and mad. I don't see the use for such a discussion.
Same here, it's the "Obvious" part that sort of got me, I also hate these discussions because that defense is used a lot, the "Who would win in a street fight?", annoying man :nonono:
The bold isn't true at all, any logical person would know that street fighting is a completely different field. Wish you would admit that, at least. Of course I'm gonna admit that UFC is closer to that field, yet still VERY VERY far from it.
By the way I've actually seen one fight of his, can't recall the opponent but I was entertained. I can appreciate the sport sometimes.

Dominicano Soy;
Lets just say i feel this discussion will only harm the chances of boxingfans accepting mma as a legit sport, and that the discussion is really for droolers.

Someone mentioned Aldo before, and i think this is a decent chance to show what a great athlete Aldo is. I think most non mma-fans only know about a couple of fighters.
Aldo is pretty much the anderson silva of the lower weightclasses, but more ruthless and more wellrounded.

I don't want to have this discussion since its completely irrelevant.
Its very hard for a fighter unfamiliar with grappling to stay on their two feets against one that is. Its kind of like putting a football player against a pro boxer in a ring and expect him to be able to defend himself.
Thats all im going to say, and this is a braindead discussion without any kind of relevancy. These are serious athletes that (mostly) dont fight in the streets.
See, I know exactly what your trying to imply and I still say there isn't a possible way of knowing who would win. Street fighting is a completely difference field from UFC and Boxing, a different element almost.
The answer can never be obvious, unless either guy actually got into a street fight.
How is it obvious? It's the kind of question that can't be answered.

these kinds of questions are the reason boxingfans have a chip on their shoulders.
I won't even answer it (should be obvious) because it will derail the thread.

please son..this is what would happen if the wifebeater tried to pot shot Aldo in the streets..

It is so gay that people try to resolve the issue in a street fight situation. I respect MMA but I don't like it. I don't know why dumbasses like James Toney (who is also fat and shot) go the MMA just to get their asses kicked. You don't see UFC fighters coming into boxing because they would definitely get knocked out in 1 round by any decent fighter. People like James Toney make boxing look ****.
And as for the street fight situation it doesn't really matter. Most street fights are not one on one, they don't have any rules and the person who strikes first usually wins.
if ufc featherweight champ jose aldo (145lb) got into a 1-on-1 fight on the street with floyd mayweather, who do you give the edge to?

Props to B-Hop, was man enough to admit - you gotta love him. Anyone who disagrees that Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is an art is just ignorant. Funny how people on these forums call the fighters 'gay' when they're the first ones who would crap their pants if involved in a physical altercation with them.

I sense some slurring. Anyone agree?
Maybe very slightly.
I think he sounded tired, which probably was because he was drenched in sweat.
Very good interview by Bernard. Happy to see him being open to the idea that hes wrong. A lot of posters on this board could learn from him.
