pacquiao deserves much more credit for his fights considering what he's done in all the weight classes he's done it- he's maybe the best fighter of all time
First you said he was on Sugar Ray Robinson's level, now you go as far to say he's the GOAT? Wow. Just stop. I don't wanna hear what a casual has to say.
I hope Marquez is doing this out of pride, but my intuition tells me he is coming to collect a paycheck and nothing more. I have a sneaky suspicion that he will retire after this fight. He has missed a beat, is getting old, knows it, and I think he realizes this is the last big money fight he will ever get--just like the last 3 opponents, aside from Cheato. I'm rooting for Marquez, but I bet that's what's happening.
He will come to win, but what I said above is on his mind. This might be his last hoorah.
Nobody is turning down fights with either of those two.
This is true, but unlike some fighters (Mosley, for example), at least you know JMM is going to show up to fight. He's not in it just for the money... he wants to win at all cost as well.
No im a huge JMM fan but to suggest money isnt a clear motivation here is naive. No one would turn down a Pacquiao or Mayweather fight except the two guys themselves.
A shot at redemption and a chance to finally get justice served would be a clear motivation for Marquez. He has clearly been chasing that from the moment he got a Draw over 7 years ago..till now!
This money you speak of would just be a massive incentive attached to his willingness to fight the best. The figure could be as low as his first meetings with Pac and he would still be hunting Pac down!
Marquez fan or not, the fact you have brought money up for being a reason Marquez wants to fight Pac (or the best) is a lil unfair.
Yet, you have answered your question more than once by asking who wouldn't turn down that type of money!
Eh, it's a huge payday. You gotta give him credit for how he didn't give up against Mayweather though, even when he was totally outmatched. No doubt that he's a true warrior.
Some Floyd fans here are BS as hell. When Pac moved up 2 weight divisions above with just one fight at 135 to boot, he fought Oscar at 147, moved down at 140 and fought Hatton, moved up again and fought Cotto at 145, moved up again and fought Margarito at 150, moved down again and fought Mosley at 147 and now Pac moved down once again to accommodate Marquez at 144. Now if you look at this fact, when Pac moved up, he was labelled by the flomonks as catchweight king and gave no credit. When he moved down, still he gets no credit. When Marquez moved up, they gave credits as much as Floyd even though he came overweight and didn't move down to honor the contract he signed. lol!
jmm is moving up to fight 2 p4p fighters not a weight drained part time fighter
they deserve 0..he moved up 2 divisions to fight both and these 2 won't even fight each other..we see who's the real warrior here now dont we

So based on Marquez history you believe he is taking this purely for the money??

He deserves the money, which is what he's getting, and the only reason he caved in to the demands of either one of them. Floyd just used him as a glorified tune-up and Pac is exploiting him, so of course the wins are virtually meaningless, but JMM is equally complicit. He's not being forced into these bouts.
For a guy who campains at 135 (which isn't even his best weight) to move up 2 divisions to face the best fighter(s) in the world two times needs some respect.
For people who say he shouyldn't because he is going to get paid a lot of money..well that's not his fault is it? JMM has proven time and time again that he will fight the best in the world weather he is getting paid average, decent or mega bucks. Same can't be said for Mayweather & Pacquaio!!
He has been chasing Pac for years and years and when he is not he is taking tough, legitmate, risky fights against the best around him so to try spin it around like he is only taking these risky fights for the money is a lil bit insulting towards JMM repuation and champion spirit!
People say who wouldn't turn down that money? Pacquaio and Mayweather would...for A LOT MORE MONEY aswell!!
Come on man. I love Marquez as much as anyone but he's not doing anything anyone else wouldn't do.
You tell Roman Gonzalez he'll make 3-5 million against Floyd or Pac he'll go up from 108 and give it a go.
This wasn't done to "challenge" himself...it was done so he could get PAID.
