Here's my list of the top 5 punchers from 140-147 in no particular order:
Ortiz
Maidana
Pac
Mathysee
Amir Khan (tentatively)
Who hits the hardest? With respect to Ortiz, it is important to remember that just because Maidana won, it doesn't that he hits harder; if anything it means Victor's chin wasn't up to the task.)
dont forget holt one punch knockdown that he picked up bradley with...if it wasnt for bradley cond he would have been outta there but holt does need to stay busy in fights
Manny, Holt, Bailey, Ortiz, Maidana, mathysse all punch real hard.
I was there for Maidana vs Ortiz and the Punches were the loudest I've ever heard at a live Boxing match, the whole crowd were just going crazy with every punch landed and there were many, Ha what a crazy fight.
Obviously can't be Ortiz in 147 with just one fight. He has to fight someone like Mosley, Margarito, Pac, etc who are known to have an iron chin and at least knock them down.
The right hook that dropped Cotto was more due balance, no doubt Pacquiao has developed a good right hand but Ortiz has more power in his in my opinion. I also wouldn't bring up the Oscar fight to set an example
yes it was out balanced KD but the one that im referring to was the one before that that led to that KD, a "snap" right which made Cotto "blinked"

I would say Pacquiao's left is better than Ortiz's left, he has more power in that hand than Victor. However Victor's right is more powerful than Manny's.
Pac's right knocked down Hatton, welled up DLH left eye, caused more damage to Cotto and stunned Margarito for a while
you have a point their MaD vEIN, Pac also KD Cotto with a right...

Ortiz is a converted orthodox fighter (his natural hand is his right), so this is ofcourse going to be the case. This is why you see Ortiz drop guys with short right hands inside that look like they have travelled half a foot.
imho PAC's power at 147 is a lot more tested than Ortiz's 1 fight with Berto, maybe @140 Ortiz's power is more tested than Pac's 1 fight with hattonm but you can't argue the power in that 1 punch KO of Ricky...

Dude, I just realized that Pacquiao fought Diaz after Diaz had beaten a completely shot Morales. Was that his only career defining win? Hmmm.
yeah that shot to pieces Morales who recently gave Maidana hell and then some...
It still f_cking Morales we are speaking here bros and a win over the guy is a great win, although I thought Erik won that fight with Diaz, but it was a close one as Erik legs was gone on the last two rounds.
I would also like to add bro the other career defining fight for Diaz is knocking out Sta. Cruz for the title, the same sta. Cruz who got robbed for the lineal LW title versus casamayor...

It was a huge punch no doubt. Pac had also teed off on him about 64 times prior to that punch lol. Hatton looked like an amateur.

david diaz is not a good fighter. but he has heart. he willed his way to a world title...well that and fighting a shot to **** erik morales.

Didn't Pacquiao stop him in the 10th? That was 10 rounds of pounding, I wouldn't say Pacquiao took him out easily. On the other hand Kendal Holt ran from him for most of the fight.
That's true.
still a bad stoppage imo, even tho diaz almost had his head knocked off
No doubt you can argue that cause Diaz was punching and looked alright seconds after, but the way Diaz's head was getting snapped, I probably would have stopped it.
He was walking into huge shots the entire round. I'm no expert, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say Diaz barely possesses skills at all. No wonder Pac was able to take his ass out so easily.
