This isn't good news for the sport...but it is what it is.
Manny Pacquiao's appearance on prime-time network TV drew some of the lowest ratings ever in recent TV history. In fact, it was the lowest rated TV show that appeared on ANY of the networks in a year.
Clearly, CBS/Showtime is in no rush to do that again.
Richard Schaefer can learn from that lesson. The plan is to use the entire family of Time Warner's networks to promote "Starpower". But they have to be careful not to over-promise...and not to cost the networks money (yes, low ratings cost the networks money!)
....and, as you question my numbers, please feel free to bet me some points.

Pacquiao......welcome back to HBO.......Floyd's house....and 24/7....Floyd's show
I wonder how much a commercial spot was for that timeslot.
Twenty grand, maybe?
and then you have douchebags who loves to talk shit about Pacfans who are wililng to spend their own hard earned money to watch a boxer they like, lol.
You're right. Pac fans spend their money to buy Manny's fights.
Most Floyd fans stream his fights for free,
ok the punch that KO hatton if thats not a 1 punch KO then what is it?? a 3-4 punch KO?? 1 punch KO = 1 hit and u go night night. read what i said, hatton was not hurt he wasnt daze and wobbling nor was manny landing clean punches in the last 20sec of round 2 leading to the KO. in my book thats a 1 punch KO.. hatton got Ko because he never saw that punch coming, so even if it was in the 1st and the 1st punch it would have laid him out still because he wasnt expecting it at all..lol at u trying to discredit manny and the KO.. and who ever got KO in the first round with 1 punch only???
The point I am making is that it is not the best gauge of his power. You are saying that he has power and using that as evidence. I'm saying Hatton had been hit a RIDICULOUS number of times before he was knocked out. that's all I'm saying.
funny how flomos think huh.. flomos are the ones always hitting u up for a link to stream a fight on fight night LOL!! and here they are talking about pac fans is killing the sports LOL..
and then you have douchebags who loves to talk shit about Pacfans who are wililng to spend their own hard earned money to watch a boxer they like, lol.
do i think hatton was hurt before the KO or before fighting manny? either way it doesnt change what i said. Leading to the KO the last 20sec, there was no punch thrown from manny that hurted hatton ( im not including the first round this is just the last 20sec) until that KO punch so yes to me thats a 1 punch KO..
dude, Pac landed 65 power punchesinside 2 rounds. Hatton was already dead when he went out. Not saying that it wasn't an impressive punch. If it had been the first punch of the fight it definitely would have knocked him down.
prove pac is on steriods, show me a dirty testing result. when u find that i'll post the showtime press release.
Ok, so you dont have the link gotcha lol
No it didnt...showtime has yet to releas the numbers...bob liarum stated those bs numbers...sh*t Prolly did aroind 700k
Ross Greenburg lost his job over a fight that did 700k... Flomos gonna make a case and fill in the blanks out of hearsay and made up imaginative conspiracies when evidence is staring them right in the face... Yeah no wonder nobody believes them or their hero.
mosley lost fair and square on both occasions with floyd and manny. was he there to just collect a big pay? yes, but u cant say he wasnt trying. he just got beat by the better fighter and i believe manny will be able to wear floyd down. manny might not be able to KO floyd with just 1 punch but if he set it up and continue to hurt floyd in the later round i see floyd slowing down throwing less. this is how i see manny winning the fight by wearing floyd down 1 punch at a time. and that KO with hatton, that was a 1 punch KO like it or not. manny step back came in and BAM lights out. no other punch was thrown prior to that so its a 1 punch KO in my book.
Alright I can see how your position might play out in a Pac/May fight, but you don't think Hatton was hurt before that?
tell that to hatton LOL.. although i dont see manny knocking floyd out with 1 punch, manny still is the stronger one here. thats why i said floyd can hit manny 3 times but manny's 1 punch will hurt floyd more.. now take that into the later rounds and who do u think will be more damage? just look at all manny's pass bigger opponents. they all went into the fight thinking manny cant hurt them and that they're the stronger one and then look what happen after they get tag? i see the same thing with floyd. mosley ran from manny becasue mosley knew that if he continue to eat a few more he's gonna get KO.. so u tell me those shots that landed which werent all that clean as u put it look at the damage it was doing to mosley. the only way to beat manny NOW is to KO him IMO..
I just don't think Pacman can connect enough against May. He does have more power, but I don't see it being used effectively. Hatton had been hit so many times prior to that knockout that you cant really call it a one punch knockout. A one punch knockout is more like montiel/donaire. Now THAT kid can knock a mother ****er out with one punch.
Btw, I think Mosley was trying to collect a paycheck and didn't try very hard. I feel the same way about his fight with Mayweather.
is that why pac drop mosley? all those inaccurate punches from pac sure did damage to mosley. if i recall the fight everytime mosley would stop and try to throw his own combination pac would tag him first. this led mosley to just give up and run. pac's style might not be the best in boxing but it works for him. pac is not a techical fighter so of course he's not gonna look good to people like u. thats why i said if floyd and pac ever fight floyd can tag pac 2 times but all pac needs to do is tag him once and we'll see how long floyd will last. power plays a big role in a fight. u can hit me 3 times but if its not really hurting me and 1 of my punch is making u **** in your pants what do u think the outcome is gonna be like?
I hear you, but Pacquiao will need to be at a certain distance to do that. I also don't think Pac has one punch knockout power. He is not going to knock mayweather out with one punch. I just don't see it. Btw, the cleanest punch of the whole mosley/pacquaio fight was the KNOCKDOWN. Other than that, Pac was having trouble finding Mosley (though Mosley did run a lot.)
pac is just as fast if not faster than floyd when it comes to launching his shots off. so if floyd can find a way to get in i can guarantee u floyd is not gonna get back out without getting touch up by manny.
Speed, accuracy, and defense then. Who wins in those categories? Btw, Pac is fast but his real speed can be judged by looking at how fast he throws single punches. People get overwhelmed with his combos and judge his speed from that. Pac WILL not catch may with multiple shots coming in. He might get ONE off. Probably not the straight left either, because money will be stepping to Pac's right...
exactly.. but the other guy was trying to make it seem like mosley was boxing pac and pac didnt know what to do, when the truth is mosley was running away after the knockdown. kinda hard to look good when your opponent is running from u.
Look, I agree that we aren't exactly comparing apples to apples, but the fact is that when Mosley was in front of Pac, Pac couldn't hit him cleanly because Mosley just circled him. Pac was unable to cut the ring off, and unable to connect cleanly when Mosley was available to be hit. Additionally, if Mosley hadn't been such a *****, he could have hit Pac with some big shots because Pac was open to counters every time he punched. I'll admit that Mosley's strategy of trying to catch Mayweather coming in led him to be in front of Money more frequently, but the lack of ring generalship from Pac against Mosley can't be denied.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending Pac / Mosley. I HATED that fight from the minute it was announced mainly cause I knew it would turn out to be a sh*tty fight.
I'm a boxing fanatic and still missed EVERY episode of FC360 on CBS. I don't know about you, but I don't watch tv on noon on a saturday. That's a terrible time slot. Not saying that's all to blame, but it couldn't have helped. Just saying...
and again with the mosley floyd fight mosley was right there with floyd.. mosley didnt run or back paddle when he fought floyd. i dont recall mosley running from floyd.. mosley just gave up in the later round but he didnt run like what he did with pac..
Agreed, Mosley wasn't running as much until the later rounds with May, but when he did, Money found a way to connect. Ultimately, the difference when it comes to a Pac/Mayweather fight will be whether or not Money can get in, get his shots off, and get out before Pac can hit him. We know Pac can't cut off the ring or box on the inside that well, but he is fast and has power in both hands...Like I said, I think we will learn a lot from these next two fights.

Mosley ate alotta punches and was hurt against floyd and took a beating. He saw pac gettin ready to give him the same type of beating and decided to just stay away from him.
Either way itd be a better build up..and im hoping the fight is competitive and that jmm can perform well at this weight. It wouldnt do the trilogy justice if the fight was a blowout.
24/7 would do it better for sure. Let's hope it's a good fight...
